I agree with Funky on the Juneteenth subject. I’m still tickled that they made it a holiday but I’m not giving any thanks. We need police reform and true justice. We can still get together and celebrate the holiday, but do not keep your eyes off true justice.

I've learned to not refer to our people as slaves. They were enslaved, a condition. We were forced therefore enslaved. Calling them slaves suggests that they're inherently slaves, as if they're different from the human species. Do you see the distinction here? Once I learned that I never went back to referring to our ancestors as slaves but the enslaved.
