Tasting the classic Chinese black tea Qimen Maofeng, often Keemun in the West, produced specially for us with the traditional charcoal baking. Caroline joins Gabriele to try this malty, yet floral, tea, and moreover, to perform a side-by-side comparison between gaiwan brewing and steeping in an Yixing teapot. Taste and aroma are of course thoroughly examined, as well as the different types of Qimen Hong Cha, its sourcing, and its processing.
