Dear James, hello. I missed your live. But could you tell me what your Alloment is? I live in US California, we don't have allotment. I wanted to say please plant vegys. It will help with your grocery bill. I am 101 yr old. I have always had a vegetable garden. I have a small back yard but with help from my visiting nurse Kelley I have vegetables. I have my own lettu, spinach, other green, zucchini, and tomatoes and make my own spaghetti sauce. I still can what's left over. Kelley helps me. Back in the 1940s we started to powdered milk, get some of thar James, you will always have milk for your tea and it saves space. I do it still. You should do some canning and put some of your extra food away, no waste. I do. Things are just too expensive. I live with my 3 dogs and 2 20 yr old cats. Uou take care , and the best to you and your kitty's. Ann 👵

Happy 101! I'm sure all the homegrown vegs have something to do with it. My Aunt just turned 94 and she keeps me in line! The allotment is a plot of land rented for growing vegs. From the n-east coast US.

Sean, you produce loads of videos, far more than most vloggers. Therefore some of them will be of you opening parcels. So what? Your running commentary opening your parcels is fun. It’s also lovely for the kind people who have sent you gifts. Do what YOU want to do. I enjoy your vlogs, so relaxing to watch and real.

Hi Sean, the milk that our nan's used to have was called "sterilised milk." it's called "long life" now. This is the one I buy. I always buy a few at a time when I go out and never run out now. Freezing herbs is a new thing for me, I pick the mint/herbs, quick rinse and pat dry. Chop, bag up, label, freeze. Takes less room than ice cubes. On making cheese, do you have a dairy farm near you that sells raw milk? My cousin makes her butter from that and it's lush. Best wishes.

Lov your show. I used to live in England and worked at RAF Upper Heyford. A lifetime ago. I'm from the US Colorado. I now live rural/dessert near the Great Sand Dunes. I've also been sowing seeds for my garden. In fact, because of the short growing season, I started my seeds on January 18th in my greenhouse. It's exploding now. I can't put them outside until the first of June. It's a desert 🏜 hot during the day but to cold at night at least until June. In fact, I started a fire tonight because it's 26 degrees tonight and cold. Can't wait to see your progress with your allotment. I grow mostly tomatoes, chili's, carrots, beets, and whatever I can stick in there. I do my home canning Sept and Oct. I've been canning for years a wonderful way to persevere your food. Well, good luck. I'd love to send pictures of my greenhouse but not sure how to do that. I'll keep watching and grow some beets there pretty easy to grow Take care

The ice cubes for milk sounds good if you just want a bit for coffee or tea. I have frozen a gallon before and it takes days to thaw out in the fridge. I am from North Carolina in the USA. I put milk in my tea. My friends think that is weird. Warm here. People are getting gardens ready. Dogwoods, tulips and azaleas are in bloom just now.

Good day! I missed your live but am watching the replay. I always keep powdered milk or evaporated milk cans in case I run out and don’t feel or can’t go out to get some. I really like my tea and coffee with a bit of milk.I really don’t buy much fresh milk because “ the new reality” in Puerto Rico is that we have power outages every week and things , especially milk, spoil. We have had a bit of a rainy spell here which has been wonderful for my plants. My veg garden is quite small as most of my space has been taken up for orchids which I love and cultivate. But as things are going with the economy and the rumble in the far east many things might need to change. I mostly eat keto style and there are simple ways to do it that don’t require fancy cooking. I eat mostly proteins, usually chicken, fish, eggs I indulge in bacon and sausages sometimes. I also eat lots of leafy veggies and low carb vegs. I usually have my tea or coffee with heavy cream , it’s better for a keto lifestyle. I eat mostly keto bread ( if you need a simple recipe let me know.) and sometimes light soda crackers unsalted. As for fruits mainly it’s small apples, and berries. So I mentioned that I started this food lifestyle change in February weighing 267….today the scale read 251. Si slowly but surely the weight is coming off. Once in a blue moon I do indulge, yesterday we went out to eat and I had veal with rice and beans ( we latins eat rice and beans as part of a regular diet) that was delicious. But I did not have dessert! Keep at it Sean, make wise choices, be attentive to your food choices, check the caloric content and carb load of what you eat so you can keep it real. Be well dear boy, see you around another cup of tea!

Hi Sean, always have a spare full pkt of toilet rolls and when you open that, get another pkt of toilet rolls. The big pkt that you are ordering, when that goes down to 10 rolls, buy another pkt, and you will never run out. That's a brilliant idea with putting milk into ice cubes ... Sean, I'd like to hear about the mint in ice cubes and making mint sauce.. 👍😉🇨🇮☘️Eire

If you’re going to choose no dig. Aldi & Lidls allow me to take plain empty cardboard boxes (I always ask first of course). I took on an extremely overgrown allotment 16+ years ago and initially had slow progress with very hard work digging all weeds out. I found no dig method so now perennials are dug out then plenty of cardboard is added to cover annual weeds then compost on top such a game changer tbh. I now hoe the odd annual weed & dig out weakened perennial weeds. So wish I knew this method in the early years. Very best of luck with your new plot 🤩

Green salad washed, spun, and kept in the salad spinner in the fridge keeps well but it needs a bigger fridge. Put the oil and lemon juice dressing on it when serving or whatever dressing of choice. Not sure it lasts 5 days like this without browning but three days for sure is fine. She didn't say what kinds of salads she makes and if it's something like potato salad or pasta salad that will definitely last a week. These are not the first thing I think of when I hear 'salad'. Lentil salad or black-eye pea salad is good too btw. High in resistant starch. Gets the blood glucose down. Tried and tested with a friend. We did glucose curve testing every 15 minutes then 30 minutes for three hours. Yes, nerdy but informative. Generally anything with vinegar will slow digestion. I have a friend who went all bonkers with this almond flour pancakes business. She phoned me in a panic because there was blood in her urine. Analysis showed oxalate crystals had torn the kidney tissues while passing through. Since tea is high in oxalate you may be okay because probably you have a healthy population of Oxalobacter formigenes in your gut. Humans can't break down oxalates. There's a lot of blab blab about oxalates on the internet, some of it overblown seeing as how we make our own as a waste product. We have Welsh weather in Toronto. A couple days per week it's nice enough to go to the allotment and get somethng done except the soil is supersaturated. Rain all morning and now 45 km/hr wind. Sh*tty weather. I carefully raked the compost over the beds Charles Dowding style and that's about all that can be done under current conditions.

Love the keto diet Sean. Two years ago my husband and I embarked on the keto lifestyle and haven't looked back. I lost just over 2 st and feel great. We don't really use recipe books but no longer eat bread, rice, pasta and potatoes. Plenty of animal protein and fat to keep you feeling full, a bit of salad and low carb veg. Also natural full fat Greek yoghurt with occasional berries (sweetened with stevia if you need it). We have found it quite easy to stick to 😃

Sean, you can buy a pack of six small long life milk cartons. You don’t need to refrigerate them until you open one. I have them on standby so I can always have a cup of tea when I want one. Cats go into hunting mode at night , so better to keep them in. Speaking to a vet one time she said that her cat is in and out all day, but at five o’clock she calls it in, feeds it and doesn’t let it out again until morning. Your little cottage is beginning to look very cosy and comfortable. Love your videos, regards Morag.

I always buy milk for the freezer - I buy 2-pint bottles. I get one out to defrost as soon as I have opened another. In the past when travelling I would buy a jar of tea which had powdered milk mixed in. Wasn't too bad - may be good for keeping on the allotment or as a standby. I have never had my plastic frozen milk bottles pop in the freezer. I have tried long-life milk but I'm not keen on it in tea or on cereals but it is better than no milk.

My grandparents had a grandfather clock and when you called in to see them you could hear the clock ticking and chiming on the Hour and you wound it up by a chain with a weight attached and like the nursery rime it ticked for minty years without stumbling tick tock but shortly after my grandmother past away it stopped story not to go for about 30 years but my sister tells me that she had it looked at after my father past away and that is now working again and what it was that the spring at the top of the pendulum had been damaged. But it may be with your clock is that one the three springs that is wound up by a key has been over wound.

I find if I make a meal that is enough fot 2 or 3 days I can eat it one day, and freeze single portions for later to take out...then when I don't feel like cooking that mixes up the variety. Like stew, or split pea soup, or lasagna...or cooked chicken. Also buying bulk pork chops or small steaks, or fish or chicken....packaging it in individual 1 portion vacuum seal bags, dated, in freezer. To cook later. I know now you dont have a big freezer but this might work later, It's a nice treat finding a portion of something already made like a stew that would of cooked all day......ready made. Bye for now. maybe.I love to suprise myself on the nights I didnt cook to find an easy reheat frozen meal....

Prynhawn da Sean, I have just paused the video at 15 minutes to tell you something because I know I will forget🥴I have lived a low carb life non stop for 4/5 years now & the thing I miss most is spuds. Well, I have a fantastic hack for you. It has now been scientifically proven that is you cook your potatoes IE Jacket potato & let it go cool then put it in the fridge for a few hours, you can then eat it & it will NOT spike your blood sugars which is what puts the weight on. Now some specialists say once it’s been cooked & properly cooked in the fridge you can then reheat it & it still won’t spike your bloods. I can guarantee it works eating it from the fridge cold but I haven’t tested it reheated. There is a lot about it online. I don’t know if this will help or not but I know once a week I now love having my ice cold jacket potato as opposed to no potato. I haven’t done Keto, I just keep my carbs around 50-80g a day & I have lost over 2 stone. My GP told me to discount all carbs from veg & eat as many as I like & it really works for me but I know we are all different, it may not work for everyone. Annie🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Hi Sean,it surprises me that you don't have foxes, but that can be a blessing, we have urban foxes, I live in Manchester, and we get dozens of them , I have a fairly big garden and at the bottom of it are a lot of bushes, they tend to hide there, this spring we have seen quite a few of them and they kind of have this scream, which they use to communicate with each other, my collie dog chases them, I don't feed them but I do put water out for them, my dad used to live in Benllech Bay in Anglesey, and didn't have foxes either, I enjoy your vlogs, keep up the good work xx

Would it be worth getting a trolley? That you can take on the bus? Wheels carries loads of the bulky & heavy stuff? and doing a big shop for packed items like toilet roll, washing detergent, cleaning products, cat litter etc & going to Lidl or Aldi once a month? Kinda schedule it in, like 2nd Thursday of the month, or similar? Aldi or Lidl quilted / cushioned stuff is much cheaper & you won't need to wait in for deliveries. You might be able to get one second hand, or maybe ask a neighbour if you could borrow for a shop to see how it goes? The other good thing about going on the bus, you can have a chat to ppl, or catch up via the socials. The thing with the buses, if they don't get used the service will get reduced / discontinued, then it will affect everyone.

They say not to freeze milk because the fat separates for the body of the milk while it is defrosting

You can freeze all types including whole milk, semi-skimmed milk and skimmed milk. Remember that for all of these milk varieties, you should defrost in the fridge rather than at room temperature or warmer - never heat milk up to defrost it.

Hi Sean, we freeze all our milk, can't stand long life. We shop once a fortnight and freeze everything we can. Milk will be fine for ages, just rotate it as you go. Thanks for the chats. Sorry I don't know how to join your live chat . Sue from Sussex

Hi Sean. Living in Queensland it's a little difficult to watch your live broadcasts si can't interact with you. However, with regards to your milk situation, why not try Long life milk. Unopened you don't need to keep it in the fridge and it keeps for a long time. We have used it for years.

I just keep a carton of long life skimmed milk in the cupboard for emergencies. They do it in semi skimmed and full milk also. Tbh, you can’t tell much difference in tea.

Missed live, but must tell you your the only channel I watch even later. I've been following Keto for quite awhile, lost lots of weight. After I hurt my back Christmas day I couldn't stand long enough to cook so hit carbohydrates hard and gained 5lbs. Happy to at least been able to get back into Keto, and start making some recipes from a wonderful Keto book I was gifted.

@@petra_b709 organic milk last longer because it goes through a process called "ultra-pasteurization" where it is heated to 280 degrees F for 2 seconds, rather than 161 degrees F for 15 seconds like conventional milk. The ingredients are: Grade A organic whole milk, organic nonfat milk solids and vitamin D3

Hey Sean..After I retired I got a trainer at the gym..Loved it..Found a gym buddy and strengthened my core and upper body.. Having meet up times and a great trainer kept me on track..Zumba on line and yoga are great ways to stay fit..You may be able to find classes at your gym that you would enjoy..You have to think and move fast which I have needed.
