Congrats on having a Stalker 101. They are a great radio. This radio was the less expensive straight AM of the time period using the upd858 PLL like your SSB/AM Stalker 101. 73's Paul

Yes the 858 was used in many Uniden made radios in the late 1970's before they went to the MB8719. I'm fond of the 858's as well. 73's Paul

I just received a Teaberry Stalker One 23 channel ssb cb. Extra channels with a couple of switches on the bottom,clarifier is tied in.5 watts swinging 10 watts with a stock mike.Mint condition, made in Japan. Cool little radio. I got great radio checks on it. They're good on sideband. Receive is excellent and sounds good.

I don't know what chassis the TRC-474 uses but judging by the outside appearance of the 474 it looks to late of a radio to be an 858 chassis. The Uniden 858's were short lived and only used in the late 1970's. 73's Paul

They used that 858 chip in the Navaho 457-458 and other Navaho's. You can do allot of mod's to that chip for extra channels/ I love them.

the modulation light lights up on my robyn 520d when somebody strong near me with good modulation transmits.

Just found one in the trash, the meter and led display light up, the tx led briefly flashes when i push the ptt but it does nothing else

It's made in Japan. Why don't you turn it off so we can hear You talk? It's very annoying with the radio. Go and just turn it on to show that it works. And then shut it down and talk to us about it
