@@5thcomm I’ve never placed a jumper before, but seemed simple enough. I just gave it a go and… no luck. THEN, I noticed the back of the remote plug receiver had the PIN numbers labeled. This particular unit has 8 pins as opposed to the 11 you showed here. Anywho, I deduced that if you went from pin 1 to 11 that in my case it’d be 1 to pin 8 and… voilà! This SUPER dusty reel-to-reel that was nearly thrown out (then given to me for free) has nearly been brought back to life! 🙌 Fixing these reel-to-reel tape machines has been a challenge but a rewarding adventure. Especially with the help of folks like you, Big Matt! Thank you for sharing your expertise and experience.🙏 I’m curious to hear, what brought on such a passion for these audio devices in your own life, Big Matt?

Thanks for the tip. Nearly the same applies to the Revox A77s remote control plug. When missing, the machine does behave weird because you have to hold down the buttons when pressed for nomal operation. The pinout is as follows: without remote control: Pin 1-2 -> bridge with a jumper wire for normal operation With remote control the pins have the following functions: Pin 1-2 -> STOP - open contact Pin 3-4 -> PLAY - close contact Pin 5-6 -> RECORD - close contact Pin 8-9 -> REWIND - close contact Pin 8-10 -> FAST FORWARD - close contact Be careful: Pin 7 carries 27V for operating a slide projector
