TEACH US TO PRAY! || Powerful Lessons from the Prayer Life of Jesus

After being called back to Jesus in 2015 the first thing I realized was I really don’t know how to pray. I asked the Holy Spirit to wake me up at anytime and I would get up when he said. What happened was amazing, each month that went by I was waking up usually between midnight and Three. I would sit in the quiet with my bible and read Gods word as he taught me about prayer. One thing he introduced right away was fasting. It started small and increased with time. Several 1-2 day fasts then 21 day fasts and even 40 day fasts. Fasting takes the toxins out of your body and sharpens your hearing ear. I remember after my first 21 day fast. Getting up one evening to pray about 10:57pm. At that time my prayers were at about an hour each night. As I started to pray I felt the Holy Spirit just take over my speech. My words were different it was like he was praying through me. When I got up from my prayers I looked at the clock and not one minute had passed by . It was 10:57 pm. I have been called to be an intercessor and the Lord has brought many people into my life to help guide that and disciple me over the years. This season he is teaching me warfare prayers and how to Target the enemy that comes against us daily. He gives me dreams and specific ways to move on the spirit by prayer. As you know it has to happen in the spirit before it can manifest in the natural. Prayer is powerful it is our lifeline. In the times that are coming we are going to have to hear God’s voice. “ My people perish for lack of Knowledge” you guys are awesome. I’m older but love that your targeting your generation. I send your videos to my kids. Many are lost and deceived thinking they can live a one foot in one foot out lifestyle. Sadly no it’s a walk of Holiness God does not compromise his standards to accommodate sin. My prayer is that the Church will wake up. The judgments that are here and coming are to wake folks up. I was convicted almost 30 yrs ago by a neighbor walking past our first house. He said to me "do you know how to pray without ceasing?" I thought about how much time I wasted and hours I would spend talking to a friend when there was a problem. I started to realize I needed to go to the Lord first!!! So profoundly changed our lives. We are now "OP's" (old people) We have a devotional corner in our home two comfy chairs, our Bibles. Do we do it right everytime-nope-he's still working on us even at this age!!!! Your testimonies are such a blessing! It was either Marge Happ or Jack Lowenstein's funeral where we saw your tattoos change over-loved the cross, back of your neck! Count it a privilege to be able to pray for you and Mel. God gave you a real sweetie! We love the way she speaks with her hands!!!

60-year old here learning that prayer has nothing to do with my feelings. Easy to pray when things are going well for me but let the rug be pulled up from under me and it reveals how quickly I question the Lord's truth... forgive me Lord because you change not. Yes it does a few years ago I almost gave up praying for my great grandmother and grandfather’s salvation. 9 years ago as I was about to give up after 10 years of praying and fasting for my great grandmother’s salvation and on my 19th birthday. I called home back to Taiwan (when I was still living in Belize). My cousin who is a pastor now said our great grandmother has gave her life and baptized I went speechless and tears of joy. And everyone in the community who knew her thought she went crazy cuz she used to take buckets of pig manure and broom to pour on and sweep out any Christian or pastor who comes to share the Gospel. She became one of the friendliest person and her language and lifestyle changes. And on every Sunday morning at 6 am she would wake everyone up and make everyone go to church that starts at 9 am and only 5 min away. And kept on asking when will Pastor Phan ( the pastor who never gave up) when he is coming back for a Bible study. And 3 years later after she was radically changed God took her home. And just 5 years after she went home to Heaven, grandfather gave his life To Christ. And just a year later God also took him Home. Although it was painful loosing loved ones. But it was mixed emotions painful that they passed away but joyful in knowing that we will meet again in Heaven and their pain on earth is over. So I just want to encourage anyone who is about to give up thinking God isn’t listening don’t stop. Because just when you think all hope is lost God steps right in does His work.

Hi Ronnie and Mel, What another wonderful video! The biggest takeaway from this video is finding the time to pray. Life today is all hustle and bustle. Between work and doing other life goals, I am ashamed to say that I even forget to pray. I will also admit too that growing up I really never knew God. My mother was an atheist and abusive. My grandma, however, did believe in God and often have Gather programs on at her house. She used to talk to me about God. Thank you both for your teachings! You both are truly Godsend! This was great, your testimony video popped up randomly today on my lunch break and it brought me to tears. I’ve been saved for 5 years , sober and celibate for 5. But have definitely struggle specially leading up to today. Jesus really changed my life but I have failed to give Him all of me. My first 3 years were amazing, on fire for the Lord. Prayer was everything , being in His presence made all the difference and as of late, my prayers are down to 10 -15 mins the most and filled w/distractions. Thank you for this, I’m deeply hurt on today cause God brought a woman into my life, amazing woman of God, but do to my lack of prayer , I let my lack of trust, jealousy, anger drive her away. I write this with a tear in my heart, cause this was us in the beginning of our relationship . Say a prayer for me tonight, for this heart to return to its first love, JESUS. Hi Ronnie and Mel I’m shandi and I want to share with you about my testimony. When I was born I follow my parents to worships idol I was blinded I followed them worships idol and when I was 7 years old I was having a high fever and I was diagnosed with epilepsy is a condition that affect my brain . When I was 17 years old the doctor discharge me from my condition and I was healed but at that point of time I didn’t know is Jesus healed me . When I was 17 years old I was a easy going girl I trust guys easily and get cheated and I was depress during that point and 1 day my gym friends she saw me with problem and inviting to her church at first I didn’t know should I go as I’m not a Christian but I just go no harm going to church . When I enter the church everyone is so welcoming and when the service started and the whole church singing worship song and while the church singing worships song I felt someone kept starring at me on my right side and I can feel the holy spirit and it was Jesus looking at me . Days after i went for the service I saw Jesus in my dream he lift up his hands and ask me to follow him and after that dream I kept wanting to go to church to know more about Jesus but no one really guide me so I stop going to church for about 1 year and I lost faith and something bad happen to me I went for abortion and I was diagnosed with a infection I pray hard to tell God remove it from me and with my faith God removed it from my body and I’m healed in his name . After I have went through so much in life I told myself I gave up on relationships and 2 months later I met my soulmate he is so different and he was a Christian and he bought me closer to God and before he met me he was not close to God but we bring each other closer to God . There’s only 1 God in this universe Our almighty God Jesus Christ and He is Our Lord and savior. He is Our God and Our father and Lord not just that but He is a loving father . the important part of disciples asking Jesus to TEACH HOW TO PRAY was NOT about the form of praying. The disciples already! observed all the times that Jesus prayed! The most important part of this part of scripture are the 66 words that has become lovingly known as the THE LORDS PRAYER!!! These 66 word, depending on which translation, 44 words of the original script must have had so much power that it impacted the disciples lives and gave them the power to turn the world upside down. These 66 words have sadly today just become a cliche, uttered parrot fashion and memorized by millions around the world and has lost its original impact. Perhaps instead of trying to master the different forms and how and when Jesus prayed, we should instead be coming to Jesus himself and asking.......LORD TEACH US HOW TO PRAY!!... .......thats if we believe that Jesus answers prayer. And who know, He might even say to us.......if we are listening for an answer......."this is how you should be praying......OUR FATHER WHO ART........"

You get invited to your friends house, once your there in his house your friend is least bothered to talk to you, he is more involved with his personal stuffs and ignoring you. We must find time to pray and be in the word. Its a big warning sign when we say that we have to find time for God. Jesus said that we can not follow him if we love or spend more time on other things like jobs, careers even wife and children - Paul warned us about idolatry.. God bless

I struggled also with this. How can i pray?, should i pray like my leaders pray?, should i just pray the way i like it?, so chaotic that i just prayed without the connection. So blessed to know that we should pray like Jesus prays. Amen God bless!!!

I have found in those harder seasons where I want to get back to it, if I focus on the trying to do, it never works, but if I focus on Him, His love for me, the greatness of who He is, I get connected once again to His heart and then love partnering with Him in prayer! i recently had to put my boston terrier to sleep (heart disease) i am having a hard time . i miss him i have read that we will see our pets in heaven. what are your thoughts on this

No!!! I’m so sorry! I can’t imagine 😭😭😭 we love our Boston. Nowhere in the Bible does it say dogs can’t go to Heaven. There are animals there. The argument is because they don’t have a “spirit”, but I don’t know why God couldn’t have them there with us. He gave them to us to steward and take care of on the earth and knows we care about them.
