I just found your channel. I love your trick to get a dog to “drop it”. I have been trying to teach my 6 months old German Shepherd puppy to do that, without success, until I tried the pinch method that works. I am going to use that method to get him to stop biting me now. My next challenge is to stop him from barking that high pitch bark and whining at dogs that he sees. He was not socialized before I bought him and he is really bad. I took him to training class that had 10 puppies. He barked almost the whole time. The trainer was no help. My German Shepherd rescue was 5 1/2 months when we got him. About 7 months I enrolled him in the first puppy class, and he barked and whined much of the class too. Repetition is key, (daily schedule, walks, training, playtime, etc.) he is now just over 2 years old and has grown out of the barking. For me, walking him daily has helped so much, exposing him to all people, sounds, places. Now we can go to pet stores, Lowe’s, the vet, and he loves it, people can pet him and he is fine. I had tried all collars but found the 3.25 herm springer collar has been a game changer, and that was during that first puppy class. He is still very much a puppy, he will still occasionally jump, bite on me ( in play) I say leave it and redirect. One time he kept barking at me, and I said, “speak!” Lollllllll so that way I could get him to stop. Lol, but he doesn’t bark and whine anymore, except just before we get into the truck for our daily walks, lol...)Now I am working on dropping the ball, and not running me over in the backyard, lol. Hope this helps! Good luck! German shepherds are the best! 🐕 I will have to try that “spot” Dog Daddy does to drop the ball now, lol.

My syberian husky never wants to drop it but instead play tug of war and I just tried that spot on her and it works! She drops it everytime but still trying to get her to know drop it means drop it. Lol I think that spot tickles her.

Who trained you to train dogs? I love your shepherds, they are amazing. I wish I knew what you know. I was given a puppy that I was told was shepherd and husky. Turns out she is malinois and a little hard to handle. She is very jealous of anyone or any other dog getting attention from me. I am trying but not sure how to discontinue this behavior and she also destroys things all through the house like my pillow she shredded last night. I am watching every video I have time to watch. HELP!!!

At 3:00 when you poke the dog’s sides it tries to nip your hands...and you’re saying it calms them down? I also noticed how whenever you touched the dog it flinched. Doesn’t seem like sporadic yanking on the leash is gonna work for me, no thank you 😔

It's only temporary the yanking whilst your traning your dog, you can shower him with all the love afterwards but u don't have to apply too much pressure either, just enough to get their attention
