Positive interactions with families can be tough but I always find it helpful to think "When you think it, do it" so when I'm grading if a student did well I snap a picture right then and email it with "Woohoo!" as the subject! Sometimes I add a blurb, sometimes I don't and parents appreciate it! Or some people keep a running list on a class roll and send a quick email at the end of the day to one parent and repeat the next day. Keep it simple and the parents appreciate any positive contact :)

Love that motto and the strategy to just snap a picture and share a simple celebration. I think I get held up in writing a perfect email sometimes so that will be super helpful! Thanks for sharing simple and helpful suggestions- you’re the best!!

I write two sentences and keep it brief just saying what students are doing/working on. I keep it simple because I have a weekly communication book to finish.

Yes! It’s the cutest. He loves opening and closing our refrigerator! Sometimes I film moments of my day and find them adorable and wonder if others will too! Thanks for sharing that you too found it cute also 🥰

Snapping pictures of students completing certain assignments or finished work, then sending it to parents and asking them to ask their child about the activity, was something I liked doing via ClassDojo messages or stories if it was a lesson for everyone. If it was a picture of just their child, I’d send them a message saying how proud I was of whatever they did or maybe comment on what a nice friend they had been that day.
