I’m 22 but I have the opposite problem because I teach elementary. The kids always think it’s so weird that I’m not married and don’t have kids. Last week a kid asked me something and I asked her to repeat herself because I didn’t hear her, and then she said “It’s okay, I know old people don’t hear well” 🤦🏼♀️😂

I love the part where you said, no matter how you look, you’re students are still learning and doing well. I honestly rarely feel judged by my students. It’s more often the other staff who give me stares or second glances but whatever. My students always say they love my outfits. The more of my own personal style I allow to flow, the more myself and comfortable I am in the classroom. Plus I feel like students know when you’re faking it. They enjoy that I’m authentically myself. Fun colored hair, overalls/jumpsuits, dresses and berets, and all. Keep doing you!

We are allowed to wear jeans on Friday always, but the last two years we could wear jeans any day b/c of COVID. I am also a short young high school teacher! Sometimes I feel like the kids recognize me as an adult more than some colleagues. BUT, no hard feelings, no one is every mean or anything, I love my school. I wear dress pants a lot because I don't like heels and if I wear a knee length skirt my legs get cold, and I just haven't found other pants that are comfortable. I am also a coach, so I wear Team polos on days we have games. I have started wearing skirts/dresses more in the last year. I also have a favorite grey cardigan that I wear like 3 times a week all year round. lol

The good thing about looking young is that you’ll age gracefully! I’m 51, but my 8th graders think I’m 35. I’ll take it! I love your style. Dresses are my favorite because you can just put them on and go. There’s no thinking that goes into it. We can’t wear jeans on a daily basis, but our principal often gives us jeans days on Fridays. I’ll wear a teacher tee with my jeans or during football season it’s always a Saints shirt.

I'm a counselor at a high school and people always say I look like a student!! I make sure to always dress up a little and do my hair and makeup so I don't get that as much. But it definitely feels demeaning and a little uncomfortable. I've even had a parent say "I wouldn't want you counseling my family, you don't know what it's like to have kids of your own!" But one day, I'll wish people mistook me for a kid again lol I love these outfit ideas! Comfortable, yet nice. That's always the aesthetic I'm going for. Would love outfits based around Target specifically, since that's usually where I get my clothes and what I can afford.

I really want to become a teacher, and although I have had some questions about which grade I should teach, I think I have always been drawn to young children. But when I say I want to teach elementary I ALWAYS hear "you know there are still going to be kids taller than you, right?" As though that's a big problem and the only reason I would ever teach young children. It hurts a little bit! So, thank you for this video- I will definitely be watching more videos on this channel!

I was never told an official dress code, so I’ve always assumed the no jeans rule. I wear dresses, skirts, or dress pants every day. I’m starting to get more daring though with open toed shoes or open back shoes. Those are usually not allowed, but I feel like my school’s policy seems loose.
