Hey Bridget! Somehow I found you and I'm so excited I did! You have inspired me more than I can ever tell you! Even though I'm a "veteran" teacher (makes me sound SO old!) thanks to you I've rediscovered my creativity and enthusiasm for preparing for the year (we start on the 7th)! When you cut the excess laminating off, how do you stop the laminating from separating where you cut? I have a hard time with that when I have to cut something out that I laminated. Love your videos!! 😍

+KurlyGurlll88 - Are you using the school laminating machine (usually their laminate is terrible) Or placing sheets of paper back to back? I run into issues in those cases. Otherwise, with pouches, I rarely ever have issues. Sometimes I will run them through the machine twice to make sure it's plenty hot. 🔆 Thank you so much! Thanks for watching!

So, I bought an erin condren planner this may, before i discovered your greatness on youtube...i seriously WISH i would have known about you sooner. your planner screams me! the simplicity of it, the colors of the covers that i have seen, and just overall practicality of it. not to mention the fun part of buying it and printing/adding things on my own as i need. blah, bummed about having bought a planner before seeing yours, but way to go on the whole planner, it's got it going on! please keep the same format/style next year, i can totally see myself digging it and wishing for nothing more. but seriously, great job, you deserve a round of applause (i am actually giving you a round of applause! haha). thx! -amanda

Thank you! That is helpful and I really look forward to your video on this topic! What rea k y gets me is reportcard times! Ours are computerized and we have to upload work samples, notes, pictures and matices that prove a child's development in each of 7 areas....each area has 6-12 sub areas to score. After that, we must weite a narative paragraph for each of the 7 areas that is printed on the report for the parent.....all this is very time consuming! I always say I am going to do little by little but always end up cramming it all in in the end! And that's just report cards! This year I really want to find home / work balance because I am in school for my Master's as well and it gets tough!

when and how much time do you spend creating new lessons. As a Pre-K teacher I struggle with using ,probably too much time, at home on my planning. The time I have in school to plan isn't enough because it is used on other classroom preparations as well (laminating, meetings, sorting, classroom cleaning, organizing supplies...etc...).

+Virshone Brinkley Sproles it's a hard balance and it takes a lot of consistency and focus. It varies week to week but I would spend 2 hours planning on a normal week and 5 when I incorporated a room change or large projects. Set aside time each day and do one piece of your lessons. For instance every Monday you could plan out your math, Tuesday or read aloud and so on. The hard part is not making excuses and just doing it. I would always tell myself "oh I'll do it tomorrow" or "I'm exhausted" finally I had to stop that and tell myself that no matter what I wasn't leaving until this was done. I really hope this helps and I'll do a video on this topic soon.

I'm interested in your planner, but I teach in Australia, and our school year runs from January-December. Do you have a set-up that would allow for that?

I'm sorry, I don't have a full year solution for Australia (This issue has been brought to my attention) in a single planner. I would like to have a planner that works for everyone, but I am finding that there are opposing requests depending on locations and teaching positions that will make this impossible. I know that I have a few other teachers from Australia who switch planners mid-year, but I do understand that it is not an ideal situation. I am considering adding months as a separate attachment, but I have found problems with that seemingly simple solution as well. I will continue to try different approaches to this issue. I am amazed at the support I have received from all over the world and I eventually would like to have a solution that can work for everyone. Thank you for your support. Bridget

Love this planner! However, I'm having a hard time printing it where the pages align correctly on front and back, yet having the calendar pages side by side. What's your secret? I've printed it twice, but my pages are still not set up side by side. Please help !

Try redownloading the file from TpT. The first day there was an error and I have corrected it since then. Be sure to start printing on page 10 (the personal information page) front and back. That should fix the problem. Let me know if you re still having issues.

Hi Bridgett! I love your videos and I love your planner! I purchased both last years planner and this year. I would like to print it at Staples like you did because of the great paper and to save me on some ink. I went to upload the planner to the Staples website like you did in the video but I found that I cannot get my pages to align nicely because of the teacher covers in the beginning. Since it is not an editable document I cannot take them out. If you could possibly guide me in the right direction I would appreciate it! - Sarah

+Sarah you will want to start printing on page 10. If you are printing to Staples just leave a comment at the bottom asking them to begin printing on page 10 back to back and head to head. You can then ask them to print pages 2-9 separate (these are your covers) on single pages. If you want to make this cardstock ( separate from the 32lb paper of the inside pages) I would upload the document a second time and select cardstock, color, single and leave a comment for only printing pages 2-9 or whichever cover you choose. Hope this helps!

Do you use both your planner and planbook.com? I like having a physical planner but I also like that I can just type/print out lessons using planbook.com. i thought about doing both, but found that typing up the information and writing it down just ended up being a tedious task. I was just wondering how you utilize both of them!

Yes as I discussed in the video I use Planbook.com to plan out my initial lessons for the week. Then at the end of each day I use both to reflect on and plan next day creating a bullet list game plan. So Planbook.com is more of a macro view and my planner is my micro view.

+Pamela Johnson oh yea okay. I would upload the file and there is a section that you can add notes. Tell them you want the printing to start on page 10 and printed double sided head to head. Check out and make a separate order for the covers. I would print those on cardstock. Does that make sense?

How much does it cost to print and bind the planner at Staples or Office Max? Trying to get an estimate.

Printing was $22 on 32lb bright. But I did my own binding so I'm not sure on that part.

Is there an option to switch the dates to the side so you plan across not up and down?

I will consider that for next year. Unfortunately, it would be an extremely time consuming change from the way that I have it set up now.

I love this planner BUT I'm having trouble preparing it for printing. How do I remove the pages I don't want before sending it to Staples to print? I only see it as a preview file. I'm stuck!! Help!

Anytime I want to print specific pages from a pdf file I simply print to another pdf file. I use cutepdf to create another pdf file and indicate the specific pages I want to print and send them to that file for later use. Hope this makes sense. Good luck.

There is a space for special instructions. Leave instructions for Staples saying to begin printing from page 10 back to back and head to head. You can select the other settings (paper type, back to back) All you really want is to tell them which page to start at. I would then make a new document for the covers and tell Staples which ones I want printed in the special instructions area. Hope that helps!

So I have a question! Love your planner, I purchased it last night... And I'm trying to print it. It looks like it's going to be thick. Did you print yours all on cardstock paper or regular paper... ? Your planner looks so much thinner lol

I only printed my cover and back cover on cardstock. The inside pages are printed on 32lb bright white paper. It is a bit thick than normal paper but the quality is much nicer and you won't have as much bleed through.

I would love to enter the giveaway! the only problem is that I work in the UAE and our weeks are Sunday through Thursday, with the off days friday and saturday. This is a problem I ran into with last years planner and had to cover all the dates with washi tape and rewrite them to make it work for my teaching weeks!
