You remind so much of my mother. She taught 3rd and 4th grade for 38 years. She loved teaching math most and she was also a believer in no homework. And she never brought her work home. Love your channel.

Just recently found your channel and your vids are seriously helping me! I graduated with a psych degree but have been thinking that teaching may be the route I’m supposed to take. So hearing you talk about going to college for kinesiology and then becoming a teacher makes me feel a lot better. So thank you❤️

Wow, your answer to the first question... you nailed it. There is this weird stigma around teaching. People are really negative about it but I have decided to go back to school to become a teacher!

I have never related more to a teacher before! I would have answered every question the same way!! Also, I’m moving to Northern California this summer to teach. So glad I stumbled across your channel! You keep it so real and don’t give me teacher guilt like so many other teachers that present themselves as being “perfect”

I am glad I am not the only teacher who just does a reading log for homework. I even stopped giving spelling words. My first graders do word work activities all week then a two sentence dictation test based on the weekly sounds.

Currently studying early childhood education junior year of HighSchool and I really want to become an elementary teacher. Don’t know what grade I want to teach but its in between 3rd grade or kindergarten. I really love kids and it’s awesome making a difference in kid education. I just get so happy when they’re learning and they’re happy to.

It's so interesting how teaching is perceived in different countries! Where I'm from, our job is actually considered quite prestigious and we are paid very well. At least secondary school teachers are. But it does take AGES to become a teacher here :'D I always keep hearing how teacher's in the US sometimes have to take on a second job to pay bills??? That's so horrible :(

I loved seeing Trigger. His puppy fur looks so thick and fluffy. One of my border collies is a tri colour too. Your answer about work life balance is very helpful to me. I really struggle with it and always have. I'm in my 27th year of teaching. I can't seem to figure out how to get the basics of the job done in a timely manner. There seems to be so many things that absolutely need to get done. I'm often doing school work at home as well as after school and sometimes I even need to go back to the school after supper to be ready for the next day. My husband finds this very hard. Also, I rarely think I'm doing a good enough job although I'm told by many people that I'm very highly thought of.

Hello, I am an aspiring teacher-to-be, I will student teach this fall, and was wondering about what resources would help, teacher binder ideas, anything that may help, I am stalking teachers pay teachers, and have quite a good handful of things to use in my own classroom. My license will be k-5 and I am interested in any tips, tricks of the trade, helpful resources, what helps the most with strategies, what strategies work well, teacher must haves, worksheet must haves for any grade, etc, anything that would be beneficial for student teachers and teacher to be.

+Early EDventures Well Beautiful Mrs. Shelley , I am sorry that this post is so long but I hope that this also helps you in your life as a teacher . You have me an autistic person who was a special ed student when he was in school K - 12 . I may not be able to answer every single thing but you have my experience and my experience tells me this . 1 . When you use your positivity in a special ed student's negative moment or even negative day to encourage their positivity to shine through it will ultimately turn their negative day into a positive day in the end . 2 . Find out what that person enjoys when they are at home and if it is age appropriate use it as your manipulative for whatever you are trying to teach that they are not understanding nor is it integrating into their thought processes . 3 . Never get so frustrated with yourself or the special ed student because of whatever they can't understand that you are trying to teach . If whatever you are teaching is really important to that student then something will happen in their lives that will cause them to learn it and understand it better seamlessly based on where they are in their lives and what they intend to do with their lives in the future . You are a good teacher . It's just that every student learns differently . Again I so hope that this helps you this school year and in your future school years . - Dwight

Yeah, I don't care for any IB schools at all, I wouldn't want to teach that, specifically in high school, and more specifically the one I went to. It was a little rough back then and now it's terrible- now it's an IB school which is totally failing. I think you have to have the right area and kind of kids in order to get the full potential again, specifically for high school. I just want my own class already, I'm like over being a student lol, your videos make me itch to get in a room and start! :) not that I can start anytime soon, we can afford for me to stay home and be with the kid(s) so when they're in school I'll start to teach! Still excited!
