Love your videos and I'm not even a teacher. Just a suggestion for this sit-down kind of video would be to lower the volume or take out the background music. I felt like it was hard to hear you and was kind of distracting. Like I said, love your videos. Can't wait to see what comes next.

Gurrrrrrrl....I love your videos. I just got hired as a mid year addition. This is my first year too. I had 2 days to throw a room together before I had to do a meet the teacher and got my class. Did I mention that this was last week and I had report cards due today and teacher conferences next week?!!!!! 😳 Thank GOD I have been mentally planning since I earned my credential last December. I was also long term subbing until I was offered my job. But I am at a new school and new grade so it is A LOT coming at me fast. Pray for me. Lol 😂 I am in third grade here in northern CA like you.

I would love to see a video on balance. I'm a first year teacher and I've obsessed all summer. I'm to the point I'm just sick to my stomach because I am so stressed, I feel like I'm leaving my husband and daughter in the dust, and I'm just overwhelmed!!!! My "team teachers" just seem so competitive and the teacher before me left a mess for me to go through and clean up. It's so much to handle!

Yes every team teacher is competing for teacher of the year. Go online and find resources it's better than asking them for supports

Harper Blackstock it sounds like you’re already doing the right things! I was a first-year teacher in 3rd grade this year, and all I can say is KEEP ON SWIMMING! Resist the urge to buy, buy, buy (things for your classroom). I can’t stress this enough. Colleagues will offer you books for your classroom library, and recycling/repurposing will become your best friend. Also, send home a supply list with your students during the first week. You’ll be amazed at how many pencils, crayons, and Kleenex boxes you’ll get back. You’ve got this.

Such great tips and advice here, especially that last one about balance. I'm in my 4th year of teaching and this has been the year that I keep crashing. I really struggle with turning off my teacher brain. I succeeded at the end of this term, because I travelled overseas with my husband, but that's an extraordinary circumstance. I'm looking forward to your centre/rotations/guided small groups video. That's the thing I want to refine for Maths this term.

I love watching your videos. I am a student with 4 semesters left at CSUMB before I have my bachelors degree and credential. Once I finish I am hoping to come back to this area to teach, I live in the same general area that you are in, that sounds weird but I noticed it in one of your videos where you were shopping. I know for sure I want to be a teacher but I am struggling staying motivated to finish my degree, theres so much to do all the time and I am always stressed out about either classes or work or something and its exhausting. Im ready to be done with all the classes and just be a teacher already. Anyway I was wondering if you had any tips on how to stay motivated while going through the program?

I know this might be a little late for you to do since you just completed your first year teaching. But I was wondering if you could do a more in detail video about the credential program. I am starting Sac State's credential program in fall (I believe in a previous video, you said you attended their credential program as well) and have no idea what to expect and quite frankly all the information they provide in the few weeks prior is very overwhelming. If you could provide any guidance it would be appreciated. Thanks! :)

Ashley Robinson I did a video on my student teaching experience that might help! I talk about the details in the placement. I did the sac state credential program! I did the three semester program though so if you’re in the 2 semester program it will be a little different. I can also answer any questions you have if you just wanna DM me on instagram 🤗

I’m really sorry. I love your videos and I really want to watch this content, but the background music is so distracting it this video that I have to click away. It’s ok when the track first starts, but a couple minutes in sounds crazy and I have to fight to even hear you.

I agree! The background music is super distracting on this video... Also, this particular track has been used by every single teacher on KZbin, so I'm starting to get sick of it, LOL! The information provided was valuable though and the ideas for future videos sound very interesting, so hopefully the music issue will be addressed by then :)

Can you start a second channel for non related school videos. I love watching your school vlogs and videos, but I want to know more about you, like your summer playlist or summer movie list. Q&A videos about you, or with your husband! You just have such a positive, addicting personality and I absolutely love watching you, and I want to see you outside of the teacher “mode” lol. Hello! New subscriber here! I found your channel through your classroom setup videos and am going back to watch some of your older videos. I am really enjoying watching your journey. I do have one piece of feedback. The music in this video is very distracting. It is too loud making your excellent advice difficult to hear. I don't think music is really necessary for these types of videos, especially since it keeps repeating over and over. I powered through since I wanted to hear the advice, but I almost couldn't get through it. Thanks for creating this channel and sharing with us. Good luck in your second year!
