i think the confusion with blue was because most ppl don't see "blue balls are real" as a message the song is trying to get across; it's something kurt and ram use as an excuse, but they're not characters we're supposed to agree with and they're not treated as being in the right

At the “Steve, I’m ending our affair!” Ms Fleming picks someone out of the front row and makes them stand up before delivering “I faked it, every time!” It’s fucking great.

You're right, that a lot of this song is a good message to hold onto, especially in terms of letting out our fears and realizing that they're not as big as they appear in the dark. The only real cynical part of this song is that Ms. Fleming isn't doing it to encourage the kids. She's doing it for her own ego. For her, she's had so much heartbreak and things not working out for her, she's not taken seriously by anyone (look at how the other teachers talk to her in "Me Inside Of Me"), she's been powerless for so long. Her ONLY place of power has been trying to console everyone following Heather Chandler's... "Self-unaliving". And since that hit kids in a vulnerable spot, she got more and more support, she became the center of attention, she felt like she's making a difference... (If you're far enough in, you'll know how far that goes for her). It's still a good message, though. And yessss the vocals are INSANE. That slide! That vibrato! That punch!

Side note: when Veronica was telling Martha about the note in the actual show she has the same body language as heather chandler (who is right next to her), also when ms flaming says “im ending our affair” she’ll point out to a random man in the crowd and straight up expose them it’s hilarious

For the next video, I wholeheartedly suggest you do Lifeboat and Shine a Light (Reprise) in the same video! The reprise to Shine a Light is very short, not even two minutes if I recall correctly, so it shouldn't be a hassle. In my opinion, it'd better capture the significance of both songs! Also, for the visual you didn't understand the meaning of, those are the ghosts of Heather Chandler, and Kurt and Ram! Haunting Veronica's heart, being that she feels guilty, and she knows the truth, so she can't give in into the song, but rather only be reminded of how imprisoned and responsible she is.

I mean, the song "Blue" never once said blue balls are actually real and that Kurt and Ram were right to pressure her like that. It was more of a "look at these dumbasses" song where youre supposed to think the guys are being dicks and are stupid. Yeah its an edgy song, but its not actually spreading a message thats harmful. Its more of less doing the opposite. Its saying "Guys who say blue balls are real are just like these incredibly stupid and mean jocks"
