Imagine paying good money to have someone tell you hitting is balance, rythym and timing and not telling you how to do it.

I really enjoy your videos teacherman! You are the real deal! I have improved tremendously with some of your tips! I’m older ( 45) and I apply your techniques to high arc softball which I play. My average has grown tremendously and my timing has improved dramatically. My barrel is crushing the ball more then ever! I have a daughter who is 12 and plays club softball! I apply many of your techniques when I do drills with her. Thank you for what you do! These people criticizing you are haters . Many ways to do things differently and good instructors should respect that and not fear it. Many of these folks are just upset you have a big following! Thanks again . We appreciate you out here in New Jersey. Maybe I’ll come to you guys one day if ever in town. Angel

Please keep doing what you are doing, and don’t ever give up. I’m Frye’s age and washed out in juco, never felt my hitting could get me to the next level… Still playing 35+ league in FL, you have something that I am now actively teaching my boys after the results I have experienced in game situations. Thanks for all you do, it is the real deal.

HLP gives terrible balance in the swing, as well as much strain on the wrists and hands. When you perform the hand pivot point, your left wrist collapses. Also you don’t want to show your barrel early. If you do, you will have drag issues as well as less barrel control. I advise that anybody comitting to this technique research’s for their own. I’m not a hitting professional, but me and my son have tried and tried again, even recording the swings he took to get a better understanding of the pivot points. Every time he snapped his wrists, they hurt. This ultimately lead to a sacrifice in power and control. Do your research.

See Jaime Cevallos, vlog 25 video. He shows 3 young hitters who have the mechanics of Griffey Jr., and with very little coaching. The key drill is front arm only swings.

I’m not ready to discount HLP, BUT I can’t really figure out how to carry out the hand pivot point throughout the rest of the swing. I am pretty sure I am incorrectly trying to do the pivot as it is in the isolated pivot drills, and carry it out throughout my swing. But I, like you, find it painful and very hard in the wrists. I’d like to see it explained how to combine the pivot to the point where my hands get to my waist and feel like they have no where to go. It almost feels like I am caught between a baseball swing, and a golf swing on an inside pitch, lol. Either way, I do appreciate the time all these guys have put in to the game of baseball.

Teacherman’s hitting technique seems to be very similar to what Matt Antonelli teaches. Their techniques make a lot of sense. It gets the barrel of the bat to the hitting zone early and keeps it in the hitting zone longer.

I’m coaching my boys little league team. I was always taught the swing down BS, so naturally that’s what I was passing down. I found your videos and practiced in my garage so I could figure out how to teach it. My 10U kids are hitting beams to the outfield on almost every pitch now. Very few roll-overs thanks Richard. P.S. Piss on Jeff Frye just a dumb jock that thinks he knows something because he “played in the minors”!

Ive just found Mr. Rich in the last week. Could never understand how these hitters got this amazing backspin on hard hit balls. I’ve been implementing this coil back leg and snap swing theory and it’s made a HUGE difference in the swing. Thank u sir for sharing this knowledge. Literally a game changer

i love metrics, i love taking my kids to the cages that have hittrax, we have a ton of fun with that. but yea, you also need the right mechanics, and i absolutely believe in modeling what the best are doing. i’ve been struggling for years to teach my kids how to swing like the pros, it’s not intuitive at all and for some players it’s counter-intuitive. and i have for sure seen a pattern, not just in baseball, but also in basketball, those who can play well and for who it came naturally are often times not good teachers, and don’t actually know what their bodies are in fact doing. nowdays we have amazing quality slow mow video of all the best hitters, and it’s clear what they are doing, and they are swinging the way this man teaches.

I was always doing the "push" which is taught by nearly every hitting coach. I started doing what this man teaches and instantly started driving the ball 100 feet farther and feel like I have more time to react to the pitch. I now am feeling more confident at the plate and it seems to have slowed things down in a good way. Thank you Rich and keep doing what you are doing. The old guard of baseball is just on the defensive. There is no "one way".

Ive watch some of your debate with Frye and others, and I have to say… I’m against guru mentality. I don’t think anyone should be followed without question as if their word is god. But this makes sense. Especially when you’re debating against someone that isn’t actually countering you with an alternative. If Frye or anyone else had a way to do it that also made sense to me and could counter you then I would definitely listen, but when they just say “he’s wrong but I don’t know the correct answer” it’s hard to take him seriously

Hello Teacherman, I have been coaching high school baseball for 33 years now in Las Vegas, and I have taught in some ways the stride, load, and rotate system. As you stated in your video the Great Debate, about being interested in learning. I initially was very skeptical about your teaching until I viewed more of your content and I do believe it is the best way to hit. It saddens me that I was not able to know about this until now. I will be retiring this year from high school ball, but I am giving back to the community by coaching some 7,8,9-year-olds ballplayers. I pride myself on being able to have answers when people have questions on anything I teach, so is there a way to learn the proper teaching of your system, so I can teach it right? Thank you for your time.

Hey Mr. Teacherman, you are genius and it's unbelievable that people don't recognize. I am a golfer and am taking so much from your concepts. In golf it's the same problem with the teaching industry. Your concepts can adapt to golf for sure. You should take a look at the long drive guys... you are really on to something and I really hope that you will get the recognition in baseball. F... them haters ;-) Ignorance is always around us. I am not into baseball - but your patterns match perfectly for the driver. In golf we hit our irons down on the ball. Do you play golf? You would crush it!!! And it's good that you taught yourself and you really figured it out. Your players will exceed, for sure.

Love your passion for what you teach and I wish I knew what you know when I played instead of the usual “stride, swing down, push” junk. I can’t stand the way you’re criticized by other coaches and can’t figure out what it is about what you teach that they can’t comprehend. In my opinion, you’re very clear while explaining the what why and how. Ur entire method makes total 100% sense and should be respected. Stand ur ground big Dawg and keep spreading this gift. I’m 35 and have been practicing and watching ur videos and it’s unreal when you get that feeling of stretch combined with the snap and tilt and u hit the stitches off the ball. I will be passing your swing down to my 5 and 11 ur old sons. Thank you for all of the hard work and dedication and trial and error put into your craft and I salute you good sir
