Thank for sharing. Based on my own experience, i would say that it is really easy to understand english teachers like you. I know that because i was able to understand english teachers when my english level was really basic. The first reason people cannot understand is they have not listened enough, it happend to me when I first started learning english, i felt like that native speakers speak so fast, even when someone speak slowly but they don't enunciate i still failed to understand, the reason was because my brain was not familiar with english sound. According to me, the second reason is remember vocabulary, back then i was not able to understand vocabulary I didn't frequently encounter given the fact that I undertood them when i saw them written. I realized that remember words or phrasal verbs, collocations,... when it comes to listening is completely diffirent from reading. I think almost everyone can understand english if we constantly expose ourselves to english long enough, listen a lot with a variety of resources, encounter the words in many different settings then we will eventually understand native speakers. Some teachers think that the reason people cannot understand native english speakers is all about connected speech, but it is not the case, it means that we cannot understand english by ONLY learning about connected speech . In fact, i learned connected speech from the beginning of my language journey but i was not able to understand at that time, our brain needs a lot of time to process the language and if we absord the language enough we will eventually LEARN connected speech without realizing it, however i think set time to study all the aspects of english pronunciation is really useful, especially it helps we pronounce correctly.
@TeacherMikeEnglish2 жыл бұрын
Yes. And you will notice that I use connected speech and speak fairly naturally, I just speak a bit slower and anunciate more clearly than most people.

Summary: I don´t interest if you learn or not english, you know what you do and how you do it. Listen, listen, listen, read, read, read. Teacher we don´t usually read in our language, we don´t usually listen in our language... That´s reason why you recently realize we actually don´t listen. Don´t surprise about this reality.
