From what I've seen, you don't need the camera engram or a camera to take a picture in ASA. You can go into camera mode from the main menu (I think right alt also enables it) and perform the same functions as the camera.

I'd like to point out electric prod is just as useful in pve since you can use it on dinos you'd otherwise kill with rifle or crossbow👀

Any possible reason why the camera / paint brush one would not work? Is there some server setting? Whenever I go to load the paint there are no photos saved. Anyone seen this?

PvE player here. Prods are useless in most situations, which is why people ignore them. Even an ascendant prod will do far less torpor than the amount required to knock out any tame above raptors. Coupled with the need to be point blank to use it, the range to get your face chewed off, means it's use it's just pure garbage. Grind fodder for resources. As well, a long neck ruffle with tranq darts does about the same torpor but repeatedly and at range. The harpoon does well over that, too, as you mentioned. Getting a high level harpoon though is an issue.

An ascendant prod is absolutely necessary on pve. How else would my fellow tribemates comically & endlessly knock each other out for shits n giggles....

fence foundations cant be used as foundations, their foundation range coverage is extremely low, use regular foundations (they nerfed fence foundations and fence supports in pvp a long time ago because people were abusing it)

I like to set up a few gas traps in a row followed by a bear trap, then kite something through them. Once it's in the bear trap, finish it off with tranq arrows or whatever. Great for even taming big things like a rex! Get on a raptor back or even a paradaur so you can dhoot while kiting your target around if it doesn't go to sleep before the bear trap breaks. Much more fun than those lame, cowardly, super boring " build basically a house in the middle of nowhere and have crwatures run into it through a ramp" type of tamingb🤮

Fence foundations dont really block building anymore. Not sure if that was a patch or change but they are useless for blocking now

I don't think you can build above a fence foundations either. I can't, it always tells me, you need a foundation underneath, like to attach ceilings or hatch frames.. but idk about JUST turrets. Can you stick a turret atop of a FF, without a ceiling or hatch or catwalk or anything like that? Now I gotta try. Oh yeah, L8R TEACHINATOR
