Thank you. She knows that you are such a kind and gentle horse lover. I love this interaction and the way it started was great for me. This is my horse. She jumps away when i come near her with the silver spray.

Awe your horse is sooo beautiful girl! This is interesting to see how she reacted to the fly spray, wow. I have a question for you, did you get dizzy? LMAO Love you xx
@LifeWithHorsesTV5 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Angie! 💕 I didn't get too dizzy cause my focus was on just spraying til she stopped.. so not necessarily on her... that could have made me more dizzy. lol 😂

Have you also seen warwick schillers video where he talks about the mustang at the clinic that changed the way he looks at things. The one where instead of continuing untill they stop, you take it away when you notice the slightest sign of tension. And that horses seem to really appreciate it when you notice their concern. And soon enough they become curious instead of scared. You did an amazing job using this method though. You were being very kind and slow instead of going all macho cowboy on her and spraying her untill she stopped running.

Thank you so much! I appreciate that!! And I appreciate you watching and commenting. :) I always try to be slow and easy in my approach and try to understand what they are feeling or why they may be acting a certain way. I haven't seen that video of Warwick's... I'll have to check it out. I think I do that sometimes too. If you pay attention you can feel when they start to get close to their threshold. I have one horse that can get to his threshold quickly with new things or things that are harder for him... so I have to change to something else that he's more comfortable with and then go back to the newer or harder thing. I have to keep redirecting his energy. But it works well for him. I don't like the macho cowboy approach at all. It doesn't take into consideration the horses feelings.. it's just about being the boss. I like the gentle, passive leadership approach. I use alot of different things from different people that makes sense to me.. and sometimes combine things... lol. I guess it just depends on the horse and the situation. I haven't really been watching Warwick's stuff that much lately until the other day and I'm liking some of his new stuff. Mustang Maddy has talked similar about that approach that you mentioned. I agree with it. I sometimes think less is more. I think it really all comes down to feel and timing and intuition... along with understanding and listening to your horse. They tell you how to train them and what they like. I do all of my horses a little bit different. Thank you again for stopping by!!! :)

Are all horses as sensitive as she is? Thanks for posting a clip to start my day off happy! Haha. Damn you’re pretty. 😉🌻
@LifeWithHorsesTV5 жыл бұрын
Hi! Some are more sensitive than others... and also about different things. I don't think she is as sensitive or reactive as my other mare, but my other mare is fine with fly spray and Star isn't yet. They each handle things differently.. just depends on their personalities, what they've been taught and how they've been handled in the past. I'm sure there are other factors too. Basically, they are just like people... all different. 😊 And Thank you!! You are sooo sweet and just made my day. 😊

Oh my gosh, the fly spray challenge! Neither of my boys will tolerate the spray without one person holding with halter and lead and another spraying! It's a bummer lol
@LifeWithHorsesTV5 жыл бұрын
Oh bummer! Yeah... my youngest finally got used to it if he was tied... still doesn't like it when he's free.. even when eating. I want to at least get Star used to it while tied... cause I really need to teach her how to do it by ourselves... I usually don't have help.... so STAY TUNED!!! LOL
