This week, we are watching from the ICU. My husband Mark was in a horrible accident and needs prayer. He's already a miracle. His healing so far has been a testimony. We want to shine the light of Jesus through all seasons and all situations. THANK YOU for teaching truth. It is always Biblically based and I know the Holy Spirit is working through your ministry. We appreciate these lessons. My husband was supposed to teach adult Sabbath school yesterday, but God had different plans. He will use it for our good and in time we will see and say "no other way Lord." God is good, He is love, and we worship Him where we are at.

Thank you for this lesson. The bible tells us that in the last days people will be lovers of money, themselves and children will not respect their parents. I want to align this para 4 on Sunday where Peter's words were not in harmony with Gods purpose. My question is, Are we going to leave our children who are disrespectful to Elders because the bible says in the last days children will not respect Elders?

There is one correct answer to who Jesus "is." There were several correct answers as to who they "SAY" he is. Jesus asked "who do they "SAY" I am?". They had said that Jesus was several different people. So it's true that the people were saying different (incorrect) things about who Jesus was. Of course the people were indeed wrong in who they said he was.

Pastor Lomacang, I am unclear about one of the points you brought up. You said that Peter took JESUS aside and started to rebuke HIM, according to Mark 8: 32. You had interpreted this verse, as Peter not wanting JESUS, to declare HIS future suffering and crucifixion, so that no conflict would arise. My understanding, is that the disciples did not fully understand the mission of CHRIST. The nation of Israel was looking for a SAVIOUR to rescue them from the bondage of the Roman Rulership. What CHRIST said about HIS mission, of death and suffering, and Peter's response, according to the SOP, was prompted by affection. JESUS opposed Peter's rebuke, because it opposed the will of GOD. (5Ltms, Lt 32, 1888, par. 9) In Mark 8:31, Peter and the disciples had to be taught by JESUS, about HIS mission. They hadn't fully understood it, and not unlike the rest of the Jewish nation, who were looking for a Conquering King in JESUS (End time), not a meek JESUS, who would surrender to suffering, and ultimately die a humiliating death, for the salvation of humanity. The revelation from JESUS blew Peter's mind! It was in oppposition to what he had been taught and firmly believed. So, contrary to what you interpreted in Mark 8:32, it is not substantiated by scripture or the SOP. It would therefore be concluded, that Peter's purpose for rebuking JESUS, was not to prevent conflict from arising, but was prompted by affection for JESUS, and a desire that what HE said would not come to pass.
