Watching so many of these stories where we see the story of the dog owner makes me realize that we need to have a lot of empathy for owners struggling with bad dog behavior because it almost always seems to start because of some difficulties the owner is experiencing, whether it is a difficult transition, disruption in the home, health crisis, etc.. Even just anxiety and low confidence on the part of the human is something to have compassion for. It’s so easy to blame the people out of fear and judgment, but it just makes things worse for everyone.

Yeah, the young girl was just throwing shade at her ex. They obviously had too much friction going on. But what she should have admitted is that her attitude was the problem. Once Cesar fixed her attitude a little bit, then the dog responded. I live in the Uk. Dogs are not usually kept on a lead where I live. We can walk along the canal and come face to face with other dogs, but no one seems to bother because they are usually left to run free. A lot of cafes and shops are dog friendly as well and it's great just going up to pat a dog. Occasionally a dog is muzzled, but my dog was always allowed to play with them. Cesar is right, it's the owners who cause problems.

@@Somebodyiswatchingallofus Your comment has zero merit. Mental illness is not direct correlation to bad dog behavior. A lot of dog owners 1. Never had a dog before and don’t know how to properly train a dog. Or never get professional training. 2. Don’t know how to be a pack leader. 3. Believe a dog will eventually get it. 4. Don’t understand the dog breed they have its needs. 5. Don’t give the dog the exercise nor attention it really needs.

The dog park people are absolutely amazing souls. Getting together to help their friend rather than judge her and her dog. I used to go to a dog park in Cairo, Egypt, and people are vicious with each other. My dogs went from well-behaved to overprotective because of ignorant ways people handle the park there. It was the worst decision to take my dogs there. I spent over a year of intensive training, but it was too stressful dealing with that environment. That is also key. Bless that woman and her sweet dog and all their friends!

Why do people bring their prescious pups to a dog park…dog parks are very dangerous.
@klerain5774Ай бұрын
Not socialising dogs is very dangerous. Grabbing your dog and going into fear mode everyime you see another dog is very dangerous because the dog thinks its in danger and has to protect. Not allowing dogs to say hello to each other makes the dogs nervous. Every dog that has attacked hasn't been socialised or is protecting their owner. In my group we have 3 dogs over 50kg, mine is the biggest and I'm 47kg and under 5ft. My dog listens if I speak, but she is a happy loving girl. 5 dogs are medium and 1 dog is a jack Russell. When the Jack Russell barks - the big dogs run away. Your dog is missing out because of your fear. I have a 53kg Bullmastiff that has been off leash all her life at dog parks and has so many friends. In all these years, we only had one issue with one dog that was on leash attacking all the dogs at the park. Dogs love to run and play not walk on leash their entire life. Perhaps you need to change your fearful energy so that your dog can enjoy life and run around playing and you get to feel relaxed and enjoy new friends. This is not said to upset you.

I would love for Caesar to come help me with my wild jack Russel / crested mix. He can be so sweet but the constant jumping on people and nipping is an issue. Everyone says he is just a puppy they all do that. This isn’t my first pup and my other dogs didn’t do this. He is 7months old now and still doing it. He has a shock collar and I use the beep and vibration and it deters him for a little bit until you try petting him all he wants to do is bite and jump. My arms and legs look horrible where he scratches me jumping or soaring across the room mid air and land on me. He is very hyper. I need your guidance Caesar

One thing you can start doing, is leashing your dog in the house so that when he acts a fool you grab the leash & control him.
@labchic973 ай бұрын
@@K9_Queen I do that with a lead collar
@K9_Queen3 ай бұрын
@@labchic97 ok. Thats a good start. So you CAN control him then? So how can he lunge & soar cross the room if he’s in your control? You’re giving him too much freedom. Crate him when ur not working with him or training. Teach him to enter crate by using treats (high value - chx cheese peanut butter etc). Toss a piece in the crate & tell him “go in your crate”. Keep repeating this. Eventually close crate door while he’s inside. Then before letting him out of crate, you wait til he’s calm. Slowly open the door, he pops up from sit, you close door. Wait til he sits again. Start the process over. Slowly open crate door, he pops up to rush out, door gets closed on him. Sounds like he might take 30-40 tries before he gets it. But he WILL get it. And THAT is where the calmness starts. He needs to start learning that he will have little freedom until he begins controlling his impulses & excitement. If he’s this hyper now, it’s only going to get worse. So I highly encourage you start implementing what I’m explaining. Then start place work. Send him to place (a bed in the living room) or use the crate again. use body pressure when he pops up to get off or run out/or close the crate door. Rinse & repeat. He will eventually lay down & relax. He is not allowed off until you give him “free” command. His demeanor just by this work will start to change. Repetition daily. Reward him in his crate or on place with his breakfast or dinner kibble. Don’t just give him his meal in a bowl and walk off. Create value & a respectful role by being directly in control of him receiving food. I could go on & on but that’s a good start. And perhaps change to slip leash to guide him to his place or stop him when he goes to flee off his bed.
@labchic973 ай бұрын
@@K9_Queen thanks for the tips! He is very high energy! He is learning his place on the bed it’s a slow process but he gets it. As far as the crate he will go in but I thought I shouldn’t use the crate for punishment anyway I will try your tips. Thanks again

If I wasn't on alert and able to pick up my dog, many times I could end up in a dog fight. Or worst my dog killed. Selfish people don't care they want a dog regardless if they can handle.
