Interesting that tutor Carl here suggests using the PPP lesson plan format for an online lesson. Doesn’t this contradict what is said on The TEFL Org’s own telephone/online course, that a Before, During and After format should be used instead of the traditional PPP when teaching online?

PPP is one model for planning a lesson - there are others such as Before, During and After and Engage, Study and Activate. All models have their advantages and disadvantages. You can choose to use different models depending on the lesson, class, level and learner style

OK, thanks. That's good to know. Maybe, then, what is taught on your Telephone Teaching Course regarding lesson structures could be modified in line with this advice.

@@MrChile01 Delivering lessons over the telephone is slightly different to conducting lessons over Zoom or Skype. A telephone class is normally 30 minutes long and students want most of the time interacting. So, in the Before, we give the students the language etc. to study. Then in the During (30 min. class), they do the speaking practise, focusing on the language they learned in the Before. After is usually homework.
