4:18 Same girl. I always start my day with a full bottle and end it with half a bottle of water still in there🙈

Thanks Sis 🥰 I leave work with my energy level at 0% & have to arrive at work the following day with my energy level at 100% for new students 🥹 I wouldn’t recommend working at my particular English Camp, teaching hours are way too long, too many Korean surprises, lack of structure & appreciation at times from the bosses, but the kids make work pleasant.

This is so fascinating. Having been an Epik teacher, which would you say is more rewarding? I know you mentioned the kids come and go.

Hi Manoah! I love this question! Let me break it down for you on point form. EPIK > ENGLISH CAMP here’s why: 1. There was structure at EPIK. My English camp is new so it’s a pilot program. The bosses are learning & trying out new things along the way is has been challenging for us as NETS. 2. vacation days at EPIK are better, we get 20 & if you don’t apply for leave 15 days before , you won’t get vacation. We get 5 days in summer and 15 days in winter. 3. The content taught isn’t for me. There’s no set curriculum, we have books we are suppose to teach from but my topic has changed & isn’t in the book, so I had to create something to teach & it keep changing as the bosses sometimes ask us to modify our lessons. 3. The teaching sessions are too long. Currently on 1hr 30min per class, sometimes 2hr 30min & it can be really draining for students and us as Teacher. That’s a workload of +35 classes while EPIK has 22 & anything after here is extra pay. 4. Teaching new students is good and bad 😅 If you get great students, you start praying that the next group is great 🤣 If they’re bad , you get happy coz you never get to see them again. It’s difficult to bond with the students, but they often see me in the neighbourhood and come to me”B Teacher camp! Dance, Piki Piki” 🥹 5. Working with other foreign teachers has been great in my case because I have nice coworkers, sometimes it is challenging & have only had 1 fall out so far. With EPIK, I was the only foreign teacher but I don’t mind at all as I’m an introvert anyway. 5. Although the salary is better than EPIK’s, it has proven not to be worth it due to the workload & management style from the bosses. 6. You also never really know what your stating and ending times are because they change every week, so you can’t really plan anything in advance. They never tell us in advance too If there are no programs, making it difficult to use gaps in between for leave days. 7. In closing, as much as I did get bored being a games teacher at EPIK, there’s more structure there, you’re able to building longer lasting relationships with students, and they stick to the contract for the most part. There’s also little to no micromanagement there, so I would say EPIK over this by FAR! 😁
