In this video I compare teaching in Kuwait with teaching in Dubai. These two countries are separated only by a 1 hour flight but are quite different to live and work in.
A huge factor in what your teaching experience might be like will depend on the school you are at. In general UAE students are very similar to Kuwaiti students. You won't find any huge cultural differences between them. If you are teaching at an international school however then you will be teaching a huge variety of nationalities and will have a totally different experience altogether.
For more about what it's like to LIVE in these two cities you can see more here:

I compared teaching in Kuwait to Dubai because I’ve lived and worked in both Kuwait and Dubai. These two places are roughly the same size and population so easy to compare. It’s hard to compare Kuwait to the UAE because the UAE is much bigger and every emirate is totally unique and has its own character. I only know Dubai. I do not know the other 6 emirates. As for the picture - really very little thought went into which clip of Kuwait I used. It’s no secret that Dubai is way more built up and modern than Kuwait… I’ve made loads of videos about Kuwait so please watch those first before you get upset. Anyway - more importantly, thanks for watching, I appreciate all your comments! Mike

I've been to both countries and if I'm honest with you, I would say I like Kuwait better. No hate on Dubai though, I've been to Dubai on New Years by the Burj Khalifa and it's great! But I just enjoy Kuwait much more because the food is great, the heat is great in my opinion, and I love how Kuwait is not afraid to show their religion. Dubai is amazing, too, but I just think they try to impress the people from the west more. Either way, I LOVE both, probably my favorite places on Earth, but I prefer Kuwait.

Btw its widely known in the UAE is that dubai is not the most comfortable place to settle and live in, however its still very comfortable, Abudhabi however, is in my opinion the best place to live and settle in. My mother is from kuwait and my father is from abudhabi, so my mother moved to abudhabi and she says its a million years better than kuwait for living and settling in. Dubai is basically a tourism destination so its not VERY ideal to live in. But trust me come to abudhabi and you’ll find a whole different lifestyle and it’ll become your favorite place in the world, i promise

طلال الدعجاني Salam aleikum brother! I like Saudi people very nice but not really fond of your government. The only Saudi King I like is King Faisal! الله يرحمو andالله يرحم sheikh Zayed I hope as a Muslim Ummah we reunite once again maybe this time by Ottoman Erdogan lol... hes trying to do it by his expansion and influence. Ok out of topic! Coming to Dubai its more conservative compared to West... like even in sex outside marriage is illegal, or alcohol there are restrictions and only in private (and there are many other things that i can list thats not like the west).. Sharjah banned it al hamdella. But in the end this is an Islamic country and we must not please others. Btw im not from UAE but i was born and raised in this beautiful . Btw when was the last time you visited UAE???Land. Its my home ☺☺

HAHAHA, I can tell you that is not true because I'm from Al Ain and live in Sharjah, number one Sharjah is famous about holding on to their traditions and all their cultural museums. I live here and I can see the defence when I drive to Dubai. The reason we moved from Al Ain is that of how underdeveloped they are. to the point where the people cant speak English so how can you even consider that westrnized
@UAE77877

I think they said its "un-arab" because many people in the UAE are foreigners and expats, from all over the world. But al Sharjah, or al Ain are not westernised at all.

Hi, I’m from Kuwait and have seen a couple of your videos. I see that you say fair enough things about Kuwait in this video, but the main reason that Dubai or UAE in general is better than us, is because in Kuwait there are a lot of corruption things and people in the government are just not doing that much to protect the public funds. Also they’re not doing that hard work to make the country get to the next level.

Omg, I loved this video. I’m actually from the UAE so I was curious about how you felt living here. I’ve went to Kuwait too, many times actually, and I agree on everything you said, I love Kuwait. I’d also like to recommend you visiting AbuDhabi or AlAin in the UAE (if you’re still in the UAE) they give of more of a ‘middle-eastern’ vibe if that was what you were looking for, but that doesn’t mean any other Emirate doesn’t. I liked this video, and you seem such a genuine and an open-minded person. I’d love it if I had a teacher such as you. Seems great, I hope you enjoy/ed your stay in Kuwait or Dubai, or wherever you are right now. Have a great one.👍🏻✨

FYI Kuwait has the largest mall in the entire Middle East “The Avenues” and many other smaller ones each of them is breathtaking, luxurious, and with an amazing sea side view for some of them .... The buses there are known to be used by only workers ... you’ll never see a Kuwaiti taking a bus not even a tourist unless they’re new and don’t know a thing about the system, Kuwait is one of the countries where it’s better and more comfortable to rent your own can. You need to make some Kuwaiti friends to show you around Properly .. the same thing with UAE try to meet some native people. One more thing.. Dubai is only one empire out of seven, it does not represent the UAE as a whole, it’s not even the Capital! You really need to know about the countries from their people

I think the most thing hated by non-muslim in Kuwait is no pubs drinking or dance clubs and UAE is similar to Kuwait but has all the above you need to know someone in Kuwait to teach you where to have fun other than shopping malls

Hello Mike! glad to hear that from you, and I wish you come to Abu Dhabi which is an emirate in the UAE. There are more citizens than Dubai so it could help you to know more about our society, heritage, and traditions.❤️

I never been to Dubai I live in Kuwait and I am a Kuwaiti. You're absolutely right about the education here, I am studying engineering in a private college the education is very good and there are a lot of experiences in my education. It is like you study the information and applied this information to your life not only classes, but also physical working such as workshops, labs, and internships we are here supporting those things a lot. To really understand what's your target. And I really found myself liking working in lab 🔬 as a mud engineer. This is my experience and I just shared it here. Thank you 😊

The reason is that Dubai does like an American, but Kuwait has distinctive things and Dubai has provided foreigners with wine and pork so foreigners enjoy there but Kuwait is a province.

I teach in Al Ain and if you work in a public school it will only be UAE students because public students are only allowed to go. I wouldn't want to raise a child here just because of the education system, ESPECIALLY special education. It can be pretty messed up at times but it is a really safe country.

I' lived in Dubai for 12 or more years. I went there as a child and did my entire schooling there. I have always felt UAE more of my home country than India.

Hello, my brother Mike Thank you for not being like the rest You have dealt with us humanely Unfortunately there are many others who deal brutally and I, sir, have been treated brutally when I learned to speak English, yet I believe that there are those who deal with humanity like you.

There are no comparing between the same country and the same people. I LOVE all the cities located in the GCC countries. All are similar. All are nice. There is no differences between Kuwaitis and Emaratis at all. But thank you for the video. And i love the British accent always easier for me to understand.

I wish I met you in your year in Kuwait. I would've taken you to the memorial museum & show you the British section with the names of British soldier who were killed during the liberation of Kuwait in 1991. Kuwaitis are very loyal to their friends. That's why they're not cutting ties with Qatar but also maintaining good relation with UAE.

I don’t understand why do u show the places in kuwait in like a negative way as if it’s poor when it’s not. Have you ever visited the avenues (a mall) or went to the green island ? All are pretty good. Plus most of the people who aren’t kuwaitis but live in kuwait say that it actually feels like home because the people there are so welcoming and it’s really safe.
