Bringing the match over to your side of the table is huge, but remember all that strength has to go through the wrist so your lats, biceps, is only as strong as your wrist allows it to be. Straight raiser/post and cup is key to allowing it.

I almost never comment on videos... I probably have like 5 comments total for all the armwrestling channels I follow in years. Yeah, because everyone he trains with in Dubai just always want to win...there is no real good training that goes on in Dubai it seems like. And outside of the special guests he has show up from time to time he doesn't have a real good coach there to help him on a day in and day out basis. Not to mention the revolving door of special guests that show up just tell him different things all the time and I think he just gets confused. When he's pretty much the best arm wrestler in his team in Dubai, he's just not learning much.

Yes, one has to get a real good feel for it, right? But I don't think so. I think Larry has to get his own style. His muscles are so taught, that I expect developing the backpressure and pronation enough, he would take the hand, maybe fatigue a more equal opponent in a more equal position, and then press. I don't think he can be quite as dynamic as other armwrestlers.

@kabiskzor2 жыл бұрын
To be fair when Devon and MMT were teaching him Larry was literally just starting out.. Devon was trying to just teach him one letter in the alphabet because at that stage he didn't even know that. Any more in depth and it would have gone over Larry's head and most of it did Larry hadn't even competed at that stage. If you go watch the video Ryan put up a day or two ago of Devon giving a class on Arm Wrestling you will see a lot of the same talk as what Ryan used. I'm sure if he did a training session with Devon right now he would be taught what he needs right now.

Truth bombs there for Larry with establishing height at the start, develop his riser, and feeling rather than tee'n off all the time. It is the same reason you are so much better in the strap - you end up even or higher than your opponent where without the strap you end up lower most of the time. Great stuff.
@lucpilon12 жыл бұрын
No he’s better in the strap because his back pressure lay strength pulls on the low part of the strap which forces the opponents wrist to break and crack open. He also feels the connection to his hand with the straps like most bodybuilders do.

It would be really interesting to see how Larry responds to this sort of light, feel-based training over a course of a few days. More importantly, the Dubai team needs this perspective. The problem Larry has is that he’s not gifted with an abnormally powerful hand and wrist. Those who are gifted with those assets can learn technique and excel more quickly because that’s where it all starts. Those with other massive strengths need to spend a lot more time making adjustments to access those strengths without the overwhelming hand and wrist. It’s a more difficult road. All that said, phenomenal job with the instruction.
