Very good video mate! Genetics is always a vague term used by the mayority of people but it's more complex than it's seem. Like you explain "genetics" is something that predispose you to a large set of things so when people often ask if they have "good genetics" i ask for what? We tend to think that a person with big hands or tall or even muscular will perform better at AW from the beginning but it's not that simple
@EastsideArmWrestling Жыл бұрын
Thanks ntgr, and you’re exactly right! Asking questions like you mentioned, “for what?”, is the type of mindset I hope to instill in people. Seeking for nuance in answers, I feel, is more beneficial for improving ourselves.

I've been ArmWrestling almost 1 year and still everybody wins to me. My dream was being National Champ one day. But even people that don't even go to the gym wins me. And i think i have long arm cause i'm 6'1 - 6'2 but i am skinny. I weight 150 lbs and i have very thin wrists and forearms. And i understand is frustrating cuz i put tons of time learning Everything about ArmWrestling and training consistently but when you don't see results it's normal to start thinking maybe i was not made for this. ArmWrestling is almost like my biggest passion even if i loose every time, so i think i will still doing it for a couple years. But i know that if i'm still in the same point in some more years even if i learn and train a lot i will have to give up and focus only in getting bigger. Some genetics are not predispose to get too much stronger. But first you wanna find out by yourself giving it time and trying to learn a lot on how to do things right, and then making conclusions. I write this the 28/06/2024. If someone remind me in one year or more i will tell if i make it. Good luck to everyone.

I would add 2 factors when it comes to genetics: - if we assume that practically all top armwrestlers are enhanced, then part of one's genetics is a response to PEDs. Some benefit more than others from the same substances/doses. - also genetic resistance to side effects of PEDs. This might not affect immediate performance much, but affects longevity of the athlete's career.
@EastsideArmWrestling Жыл бұрын
I specifically left out these factors such as response to PEDs, traveling, weight cutting, etc. as I’d categorize these as “external” variables, but yeah, definitely there are many other factors in play.
