Teaching My Dog How To Kayak

➳ It is time to hit the water! But before we do, we need to prepare and make sure Frankie is all set to go. When you are on the water, things can happen and change quite quickly to it is important to have a well trained dog that is familiar with the boat.

Life jacket for the pooch? Great idea...can't be too careful with our best friends! Treats for acclimating to the kayak are a super thing! Great video showing us how to get a pooch to be comfortable with new things!

I really liked this episode! We recently got kayaks. I live in florida. I have a big aussie. SHADOW on the sun, for real not kidding. He always watch frankie to the moon with me on my bed. He cries when sees frankie playing Frisbee. My husband was like wow!! When i found your channel. I wish to take my dog to kayak one day. He s 70 lbs. Scared to noises, barks n scratch a lot. Needs training for sure. But watching your episode gave me lots of ideas! Thank u. Take care.

I want to take my dog on a kayak or on a paddle board. We have a paddle board but I feel more comfortable kayaking. I can rent one and they'll most likely allow Teddy to come with me but I can't practice it as often as you did since I have to take him to the beach every time I want to train him.

Thanks for your video. I have two dogs that I want to take out on the water this summer. The girl is smaller than your dog and she'll fit in the kayak. The boy is a bit bigger and he'll have to go in the canoe.

im extremely impressed by the quality of materials, stitching, and fit on my mini aussie. he is 23lbs, almost a year old, and wears a size xs but could fit a small probably. it comes in 3 colors too, so you can match it to your boat or other dog/outdoor gear! he seems very comfy in it and it stays balanced while he swims without restriction on his range of motion.

Thanks for this video. I'm currently in the market for a kayak that will accommodate both me and my dog. I was originally looking at sit-on-top versions, until a retailor suggested the Pungo 120 to me, stating I could take the front console out like you did. If you wouldn't mind, can you tell me what is the length from the floor of the kayak to the cockpit rim? My dog is not as tall as Frankie while sitting, and I want to make sure she would be able to see out of the kayak.

I have my kayaks in storage since we moved, so I can't tell ya but you could always put a little cushion down and it might even be nice for your pup to lay down. that is what frankie does

There is plenty of room and often Frankie lays down which gives me even more. I chose this one because the compartment covering is removable so I can fit the dogs. And because it was lightweight

Hi!!! I love you and Frankie, and this is completely random, but I would like some advice. My female dog, Koa, is going to be desexed in 4 days, is there anything I should know? She is 13 months old, and is an (mainly) outside dog. She slept inside when she was very little, and comes inside at night maybe 1 a week, to entertain my little sister :). Once she has had the surgery, she will sleep inside. Thanks in advance

I feel like all dogs start out with it. I crate trained him and left the house and I broke it down from 30 mins to 1 hour to 2 hours, etc
