Devon is so so handsome!! Thank you for producing your videos! I love to see you treat with Praise!! It is how I want to train my Border Collie! I have a class that we attend for Rally and our instructor feeds treats constantly. I am sticking to my guns!

Great technique for teaching drop on recall. Made our box to train it today. Will begin working on it.

Fabulous! Very good explained. I Will start with this method tomorrow with my 20 month old Malinois. He knows the exercise but needs 3 tot 4 lenghts. The barrière will be a good tool. Regards from the Netherlands.

You have two different hand signals used for the drop; initially underhand (close by) and then palm forward (from a distance). Can this be confusing to the dog? Is there a step you do to transifition?
@catherinezinsky52093 жыл бұрын
No intermediate step. Close up the underhand is simply easier for me to execute (I don't have be a pretzel) and has more emphasis for my dog. Once I gain distance, having the palm forward is simply more natural--and I've never seen a dog conflicted by this transition. By the time I make the move the dog understands the concept and has no problems. Hope this clarifies!
