Placing all the ryegrass seed in the row with the chaff deck is really just optimism. Ryegrass seed is highly variable in size and weight so some will fall in the row and others will be spread in the chaff. Herbicide resistance is a numbers game and with up to 10,000 plants per sq m, it only takes a couple of percent to reach full resistance in 3 - 4 years. The primary method of control is crop (summer/winter or broadleaf e.g pulses or oilseeds/cereal) and herbicide rotations. And no ryegrass is resistant to the plough so complete and thorough cultivation. Harvest tries out the best of us. Good luck.

Cheers great insight to a day in the machine and what it takes to keep it all going as smooth as possible. Takes me back to my 23 harvests on the grapes. Wash down and grease up after every day was the worse part of the zillion hour day or night.

5.00 min. The Concave clearance under your discharge beater has to bed no more than 6 mm. If more your straw Will end up on your shaff. If your reel dont turn backwards when you reversing your feeder house, you can change it in the screen.

Why don't you have a hand held moisture meter and take a sample directly. It's great.

We do, but they are not as accurate, if we are on the edge with moisture it’s nice to get a proper sample👍
