Thank you for the knowledge to feed for coming forward occasionally ad well as backwards to stop your dog starting to leap back. That's exactly what Clemmie does. Cute as buttons, but not quite the back up I was looking for!

This is the wildest, my dog learned back when he was in my way as I was trying to get thru a hallway. I just said

Hello Susan, what strategy do you follow while teaching Back Up? You say back up once and the dog backs up until a "fixed" (previously learnt) distance and you keep increasing that distance? OR you keep on saying the cue? OR you say it once and the dog should back up until you say "stop"? OR you have a "keep going" signal that you use to make sure the dog knows he is doing fine and should keep on going with the behaviour??

Enjoying all your videos and hoping to learn how to teach my 9 month old Aussie Terrier not to bolt into the house as my second foot enters inside as I'm closing the door. He usually bolts inside to find any of the cat toys or soft toys and hopes to bring them outside. (he has various outdoor suitable dog toys) Thank you :) Ill certainly try the strategy.

I’m still trying to figure out how to do it. How do you get your dog back feet on something behind them? How is it done in actuality? right now I’m confused and frustrated😆
