Already by the year 200, John's gospel was called the spiritual gospel precisely because it told the story of Jesus in symbolic ways that differ sharply at times from the other three. St. John's Gospel is a mystical reflection on the Word Made Flesh, Jesus Christ.

I met this man for the first time in the Himalayas. I reached a crisis alone in the mountains, a danger. My ego suffered a sudden catastrophic collapse. It was unbearable, it was death. And, He appeared. He gave me simple instructions to escape. I followed. There was no debate. I knew it was Him. I was shocked. On the other side of the danger, I reflected. I shook my head. I laughed. I pointed my finger in the direction where He was. I said, “You are a good guy. I will never forget you.” And, a prayer formed on my lips, “Hail, Holy, Jesus.” Sure, I was raised Roman Catholic; sure, at one time I prayed to Him. But, those were years long ago. I grew up in the 60’s and 70’s, embraced more exotic religions. And, besides, Jesus to me was a historical figure, like Julius Caesar, Buddha, Alexander The Great. Sure, I believed He did what He did many centuries ago. But, here He was in the Himalayas, alive, guiding all, of all faiths. He appeared to me, not as a powerful God. No, no; not even remotely. He appeared exactly as a very dear friend, a slightly older brother, with all compassion, just because we are the same, but He made it through life before me, and knew more. He appeared as a deep, deep, deep pool of love, mercy, compassion, kindness and surrender. I also laughed to myself later in the day, thinking, “Come on, give me a break!!! Himalayas, the home of Lord Siva. Jesus was so far from home. These are predominantly Hindu mountains.” But, I realized Jesus Christ as a Living Presence, available to all. Does not matter that I even bad-mouthed Him in my rebellious years, and quit the church, and never returned. Occasionally, even now, I will go to an empty church for solace and respite, and look at his pictures and statues. It is great that the church building exists. But, He is not in those concepts. He remains permanently wherever you go, He remains here to help and heal. Call upon your dear friend. He is a friend, indeed.

Remarkable! Your encounter reminds me a little of Simone Weil's story. But she literally had no connection or imagination about Christ when he appeared to her. Unfathomable at one level - perhaps all levels. ❤

God created nothing that can perish! The Greatest Lie against God is the belief in a mortal existence separate and apart from God!! I and the Father are One...... To believe you are anything less than the Immortal, Omnipresent Spirit of God, you will appear to suffer the consequences of this belief in a ME that is birthed, decays and dies.... If I speak of (a mortal self)myself I bear witness to a lie..... A preacher/priest of the church or bible looks out into an imperfect, mortal world he believes God created and then judges it because he is ignorant of his own Truth of Being, thereby denying the Omnipresence of the Infinite, Perfect Spirit of God.... On the other hand, A Priest of God knows the Infinite, Perfect Spirit of God is the Only Presence, therefore the Only Life. He knows where everything Mortal and Finite Appears to be, only the Infinite, Perfect, Omnipresent Life of God is. He knows that when he is not attuned to Divine Consciousness(Eternal Life, Immortality, Truth, God), by default, he is attuned to Mortal Consciousness(karmic death, mortality, form, fear, judgment, evil, etc). He knows that every communication Unfolding from God within is to encourage the Spirit/Soul die to the False Sense of Mortal Self, as the Purpose of the Soul is to take Dominion over the only Adversary, the World Mind and it's thoughts tempting him to believe mortality/form/decay is reality. He knows Divine Love can not express itself through a Material Consciousness. He knows he that Realizes he is the Son of God has Eternal Life. He then walks through the world of mortal appearances a Divine Being in who the 5 Senses of Mortality have been Impersonalized, and therefore hold no power over him. His fidelity is to the Immortal Spirit he is, and no longer to the mortal sense of life, not of God. He knows The RESURRECTION takes place when one drops the belief and reliance upon the False Appearances of the World Mind of Mortality through the Acceptance and Realization of God/Spirit being the only Infinite, Perfect, Omnipresent Being, thereby knowing ones true self to be the Infinite, Perfect, Omnipresent Spirit of God. He knows he Must OVERCOME the Mortal Belief he is not Immortal, Divine Being, and Only then can he be called: A Priest of God Pick up the Cross of Immortality and Bear it despite mortal appearances and the temptation to entertain them as reality! To the Degree in which we can walk through the false world of mortality and not be disturbed by it is the Path of the Realized Christ Within!

Spiritual Ear....not human hearing!! God is Infinte Spirit, and until we come to the Realization that God is the Only Presence, you will not hear anything other than the temptation to believe lies from the 5 senses of mortality that you entertain as reality.... He who Realizes his Life is the Spirit of God has Eternal Life! He then walks through the mortal appearance a Divine Being, in who the 5 Senses of Mortal Lies have been Impersonalized, therefore hold no power over him. Look up, ego death, christ awareness, how it is linked to other cultures around the world that explain the same universal principles. The way through him is a reference to the state of god being that he was (through the gospel) and "is". He was the word and that word became flesh form. In order for us that is flesh to understand the way, that way had to become like us to (lead/teach by example).
