Ah, more sleep. That has been the problem for us since birth, and still going now at 5 and a half. And I need more sleep than other people (probably because I'm neurodivergent and the quality of my sleep is poor anyway) so that's a recipe for disaster. Is it enough to say "I'm sorry I was tetchy, I really need my sleep and I haven't got enough in the last 3 months"?

It's great to acknowledge that for ourselves and our kids! I think when we get stuck thinking things will never change, it's harder to see a way through it all. Acknowledging that you're in a phase where it's more difficult to get proper sleep can make it easier for you to give everyone a bit of grace (and also find new ways to support your needs).
