I hate Safi because they took the most unique dragon in the entire main Monster Hunter series (so no Frontier nonsense) and made it into the most generic. Alatreon used to be the most generic because it was mostly just an edgy DeviantArt OC version of Kushala Daora, but it at least has pompadour horns to make it stand out. Safi'jiiva took all of the stuff that made Xeno'jiiva so cool (mainly the eight glowing eyes and the flowing veils on the head, wings, and tail) and traded it all to be indistinguishable from pretty much any common red dragon that happens when you ask anyone who knows what a western dragon looks like to draw a red dragon.

@@strawberrycollector Mate, the entire series is full of flashy anime-showoff Blue Eyes Crystal-White Dragons and abominations, Frontier or no Frontier. Shara Ishvalda is a good example. The reason 'jiivas's adolescent form look like this can be beacuse: 1. The species could adapt to the type of bioenergy they're gathering from themselfs. Considering that both species we found was feeding on the bioenergy of elder dragons, a dragon looking creature full of spikes is not suprising. I mean just look at its back. 2. It would perfectly represent both World and Iceborne, which took more of the realistic approach of Monster Hunter's ecology. Which Im perfectly okay with. You want to trashtalk design, just look at Fatalis. Beacuse he's from 2004, he has the lamest design of every monster in this series, but I dont see anyone complaining about that.

Okay I aint gonna lie I actually really like some of these. Like Safi and Xeno,they feel more grand and imposing with these animations and Brute Viper is something I really dig,plus a lighter framed Brute Wyvern would be nice. And others I can straight up see the monsters trying to do. Like Garuga doing the tail stuff,Odo trying to do flips like his Grandpa Zingore, I can see Jho for some reason trying to roll like that. Fun fact: Prior to Iceborne, when Tigrex and Nargacuga were not in combat with a hunter they actually USED the same idle/walking animations as flying/bird wyverns (while Barioth did not). This is briefly visible in the opening cinematic of MH4, also plainly visible in both MH Stories 1 and 2.
