Thank you for the knowledge! So many makers hold the design process hostage. As if they want to "corner the market" on pattern creation. It's really bad in the leather community!

Question (if you dont mind sharing): how do you know what shapes to cut for a new plush if youre starting from scratch? Do you make a small clay model and tape it up and cut out those pieces and scale it up? Or is there some kind of software that can do that for you when you model it? Is it just something you learn over time?

Pattern drafting is an entirely new skill that takes both learning and practice. A great place for resources is the facebook group Plush Artists United. They have some links in the docs section about every aspect of plush making, including how to make patterns

Thank you so much! One question I still have though: what do you do if the part of the plushie you're tracing uses a dart?
@TeacupLion Жыл бұрын
Sew the dart first

Thank you for this! can i ask, when you're tracing out the patterns how would you know if there is a dart, or will the traced pattern already include the dart?
@TeacupLion Жыл бұрын
On my patterns they are marked accordingly :3

Is there a way to get indents out of plushies specifically at round parts
@TeacupLion7 ай бұрын
You'll have to create a seam or a dart. On a stuffed plush you can ladderstitch it smoother
@Bob-yk9wo7 ай бұрын
@@TeacupLion do you have any videos on how to do that
