It's been about four months since I've dyed my hair blue using the same brand, but I used sky blue and I've tried everything to remove it. I've done bleach baths, vitamin c treatments, I've dyed over it twice with a hi lift red dye and there's still a fair amount of blue in my hair. I hope you don't have as hard a time removing it as I have.

I'm sorry if I misunderstood you in the video, I hope this isn't a stupid question, but can you tell me (or someone in the comments tell me) did you use only one box of the dye and then mix it with conditioner to make enough to cover your head or did you use more dye and conditioner later? Also, does mixing it with (i'm assuming a white) conditioner make it lighter? I want to dye my hair this color and I'm trying to get as much information as possible. thank you!

I believe she used a 2:1 ratio (2 parts dye, 1 part conditioner) which was enough to cover her head with a tube of dye. White conditioner does lighten the hair, but not in small amounts. If you want your hair to stay vibrant, get a couple travel sizes of your favorite conditioner and add some of the undiluted hair dye to the conditioner and use it every time you was your hair. It will keep it vibrant!

You get a lot more random attention. Like people stopping to chat, or thinking it's okay to just touch your hair out of the blue without asking. "Just wanted to see if it's real!" -.-' And get a lot more questions/strange looks from older people. People will def. look at you differently. As in "That girl has blue hair..." not so much as in "scum of the earth punk kid". At least, this has been my experience in having weird hair colors for years. Your setting will matter, too. If you live in big city, be less shocking than a small town.

I may be replying pretty late but I'm an Asian with greenish blue hair (which is extremely out of the what is considered "ordinary") and at first I thought everyone was looking at me (although I'm sure they weren't actually, and that probably it was just a psychological spotlight effect) but I never got a negative comment due to my hair, everyone just loved it, many comments on how great it looked or just general positive comments.

As beautiful as the colour is, ion blues tend to stain a LOT. Like, bleach can't even remove it much at all, so you might have a REALLY hard time removing it later

The dye she uses is ion, it's basically just pigment and a thickening paste. Like manic panic which is veggie pigment and conditioner. It's not damaging. Ion isn't as conditioning but she's mixing it with conditioner so it's pretty much just using a hair mask.

You have to use a developer otherwise the color won't come out how you'd like.

Loreal Hicolor is a permanent hair color so you have to use a developer. You have to use developer with demi-permanent (usually a 10 vol or less) and permanent color (usually a 10 or 20 vol) Since she is using a temporary color (manic panic, splat, beyond the zone, punky color) she can mix it with conditioner to make more amounts of it that way she will have enough hair color for her entire head. People also usually mix conditioner with temporary hair color to lighten the original color up a bit.
