Yup! People have always complained about how Dynasty Warriors has the same story every game, since they need to show what historically happened. But now each kingdom has a "what if" branch that tells an original story.

This game has a unique mission system, where the story branches based on your choices. Depending on the outcomes of certain events and battles, characters might live or die. This results in two main story branches. "Historical" is what actually happened. "Hypothetical" explores 'what if' scenarios, and shows what would happen if certain characters had not died. Historically, Dian Wei and Xiahou Yuan die, but they live in the hypothetical story. This video shows all the events of both.

Something I hope for in the next DW game is more clashes between Wu and Shu. I understand why Wei is attacked by both so much but it is a war between 3 kingdoms and Wei is my favorite. Maybe smaller clashes that lead up to Yiling perhaps. And they should've have Wu or Shu conquer one or the othrt in one of their hypothetical endings instead of both destroying Wei. Still loved the game.

When Cao Hong was threatened by Zhang Fei that his retreat route would be cut off, Cao Xiu saw though the ruse and stated that if Zhang Fei indeed wanted to block their retreat route, he would do so secretly instead of showing his intention so obviously. He then suggested Cao Hong that they should strike the enemy upfront when Zhang Fei and Ma Chao were still dwelling on the fantasy that their tactic would work out. Zhang Fei and Ma Chao retreated back to Han Zhong after being defeated by Cao Hong,

@@7senM7md Spreading chaos and being a hypocrite about it is not great. His empire fell for a reason. He is the monster he sought to stop. Cao Pi was under no delusions. Only strength matters. He's right. Cao Cao was incorrect with chaos being the problem. Chaos and destruction are two very different things. If Cao Cao sought to understand chaos instead of destroying it then he would have learned something. He would have learned the language of the savage beasts. Communication is key. Instead he claims the moral high ground and his empire turns into dust. Perhaps he even knew he was the chaos monster himself in the end yet knew no other way. Much like Nobunaga Oda in Samurai Warriors 5. Thoughts never mentioned to anyone, safe perhaps for Cao Pi who clearly went a different way.

Marcio Martins You gotta give credit to 7 for giving a beautiful ending, also the new Kingdom of Jin, and a new set of awesome bad ass music. And yeah, 6,7, and 8 are way too OP, that's why it turned to shit. DW3 is the best among all tbh, DW4 had the best soundtracks and they even perfected Lu Bu's theme. DW5 is still okey, but then 6,7 and 8 are just too easy to play.

I guess. You can always crank up the difficulty (which results in enemies having more hp and dmg, appart of being more aggressive). I like to play it as a power fantasy, but I'd love to see more aggressive enemies in lower difficulties.
