Curious, is the over heating a common problem with the stock Asuga? Or only when you up the tire size and pinion ?
@sparetimerc29 күн бұрын
I can't comment on the stock Asuga, but like any other RC once you start putting on lager tires and lager pinion gear then things tend to heat up. I expect that and it's no fault to the RC just me. Once I get the right esc and motor it should run cooler and smoother. Right now I am running a 19t pinion with its original spur, and the 2250kV motor the spur gear is a little high for that motor. But on the upgrade I am going to change it to a 16t/17t pinion and stock spur and see how that goes. Thanks for watching and for the question/comment. I am pushing everything right now (2 year old Firma 160 amp esc) Take care and stay safe out there.

Hi RCplaytime, it is a beast, now I just need to find the right esc and motor, (HW). Thanks for watching and for the comment.

Yooo! 2 cameras? Those jumps cuts when you transition to each camera are super clean too bro, love that buggy.

Hi K2H, thanks for stopping by to watch the video and for the awesome comment. Trying different camera angles to break up the back and forward running. Take care and stay safe out there.

Hey Al, the Team Corally Asuga looks amazing, it’s interesting that the current ESC, motor combination and gearing make the system shut down,even with the additional cooling and ventilation. I’m sure though, with some special Al magically healing hands (and perhaps some extra $). You’ll have dancing and flipping, as only Al knows how 😊😊best wishes to you all 🖐️😎😉

HI John, yes Team Corally designed a awesome 7th scale buggy and I wish there were others out there who did the same, would like to get another to run with this one. it is almost as heavy as the Arrma FireTeam so it does need good electronics. That is coming and I am sure it will run more than 5 min without going into thermal shutdown. Take care and best wishes to you and the family my friend.

Looks as if you reached your five minute goal and get some more running time out of it Al. But I'm curious abot your next upgrade steps.

Hey Dirk, yes I did, not to happy about that but it is still a work in progress. My next upgrade will be with a better esc and motor, I do know I will have the Max6 esc but as far as the motor not to sure on that one yet. Thanks for watching and for the awesome comment. Take care and best wishes to you and your family my friend.

Kind of stinks it keeps overheating. Hopefully the new ESC works out better once you get it. These buggies don't offer a lot of airflow under the bodies like the trucks typically do. Although the trucks are getting tighter and tighter fitting bodies on them! I am sure it is killing you not to be able to just let it eat and fly around out there!

I can't get upset with the vehicle, it sits low to the ground and the metal chassis rubbing on the grass and not a lot of airflow through it. It's bound to get hot. I know the Pro Line Trenchers are heavy for it but it did the same with the original tires, but much worse (really low to the ground). I think the HW Max6 will be able to handle this, since I have it in both the FireTeam and the Big Rock 6s and they are a lot heavier than the TC Asuga. It will be good soon, new esc and motor and a new body shell and paint. Then I will see if it will last longer than 5 min 🤞🤞🤞

You getting Rlaarlo Rally? Looks epic.

Hey, Chrisvda, I am thinking about it, I don't have a rally car and it does look really sweet. If it come in along the same price line or lower than their Terminator 10th scale, then you might see it on the channel. Thanks for stopping by to watch and for the awesome comment. Take your pinion down 2 teeth. before you change electronics. it may help. great vid.
@sparetimerc25 күн бұрын
Hey there Gamedogrc, I will try that and see but either way it goes I am going to change out the ESC, it's came out of my Arrma Outcast 8s RTR and it went through a rough life with me. The Surpass Hobby motor I am going to put it in another vehicle next year. Thanks for stopping by to watch the video and for the awesome comment. Take care and stay safe out there.

Hi I'm running mamba x with a supass supersonic 4292 1780kv motor with rocket fan a 15t pinion 6s works nice. I'm in the uk though probably a bit cooler 🤔

Standard wheels, I don't think the big wheels are helping
@sparetimerc29 күн бұрын
Hi Michaelhimsworth, it is cooling off here in the US, I am pushing this with these electronics (2 year old Firma 160 amp esc) with the 2250kV motor. I did expect some heating but not to the point where I only get 5 min or less of run time. I am going to change out the esc and motor as well as drop the pinion gear down a couple of teeth 16t or 17t. That should help me get more run time (10-15 min). Thanks for stopping by to watch the video and for the awesome comment and your set up. Take care and stay safe out there.

@@michaelhimsworth6512 my grass is a little bit to tall and the chassis will absorb the heat from the friction and transfer it to the motor and esc, that's why the larger tires (10th scale) proline Trenchers, to give it a little more ground clearance.

Anyone who's been in the hobby for years will tell you the same I'm going to. Running on soft grass will overheat your electronics even to the point of fire. Not good for em. It is not a fault of your motor or ESC.
@sparetimerc13 күн бұрын
Hi Top-Jimmy, you are absolutely correct, running any RC on grass period will make any electronics overheat (thermal shutdown/potentially fire). I make the best of what I have, so looking for a esc and motor that can handle where I run and adding additional ventilation and fans (one or two) will help me enjoy running my RCs all year. I don't blame the esc or motor, for this issue. Thanks for watching the video and for the awesome comment. I hope to see more from you in the future. Take care and stay safe out there.
