Let's take a look at the new Team Corally Syncro 4 RC Basher Buggy. Is it better than the 3s Arrma Typhon? Will it be able to handle serious offroad bashing? Lets find out!

No bs. This guy covers exactly what I'm thinking almost in real time. I recently this morning saw his video on the Arrma "I Made The World's Most Powerful Upgraded Typhon Grom & It's INSANE!" video, and it impressed me signiffigantly. Reason why is because I desire a quality RC of such a small stature 1/18 that can have enough power, speed and endurance such as that one. Very impressive content alltogether from this man. o7

plastic is better than aluminum sometimes. Takes off plastic " aaaaa good to see aluminum in there" 😂
@DoRC2 ай бұрын
It just depends on where. Any place that you have a lot of stress that's going to go through a metal part that is contained by a piece with a hole in it you probably want that part to be metal. In my opinion this truck has metal in all the places that it really needs it and plastic in the places that it kind of doesn't.

probably one of my favorite channels due to the lengthy teardowns! As a handy guy i always want to see things come apart. Sometimes a product's limits are very obvious, sometimes it takes a teardown or some testing. I really like the Kagama, and this looks like another well designed product! The low pressure during shipping (airfreight?) + diffs leaking also crossed my mind! Could be a valid explanation!
@DoRC2 ай бұрын
Yeah it's either that or maybe they're just spilling some when they put them together. I'm not really sure. I do know that I've never had one leak when I was using it and you would think if they were going to leak just sitting around they'd certainly leak under high centrifugal force.
@insanebmxthomas2 ай бұрын
@@DoRC prolonged higher temps like on a container ship might do it too? And since this is all mass production... On my bike, if i assemble something, it always settles in during the first ride. Comes loose once, after assembly. Tighten it again, stays tight forever. Now imagine these center diffs being assembled, slapped into a car, which is then quickly tested on the assembly line. But then again, why don't the F/R diffs leak? We don't check, i guess? 😆

Expected a bit more speed wise for a 4s buggy. Would love it if Arrma could redo the Typhon 3s in their 4s lineup

Well it would be faster on road. Going over rough terrain always slows them down. It does seem to have a decent amount of power but stay tuned we'll make it faster :-)

From the specs the Kuron 725 is a 2150kv motor; using 4s of 16.8v x 2150kv is aprox 36,000 rpm. No wonder the speed is slow for a 4s vehicle. I think it needs a 3000kv motor so it gets about 50k rpm max. I forgot, or increase the pinion size.

I'm a racer at heart so adjustable suspension is ALWAYS a good thing, access to the diffs, not so much. The Syncro is easily better (much better) than the Typhon but based on where you live, support might be an issue (as you noted). REALLY interested is seeing how this sells and if it can put any dent in Typhon sales. Btw, love the new bash site, really tests the suspension and handling but would like to see a smoother surface for speed runs 👍

Remember, the first Efra race of this year there was a Team Corally at the start and no one expected that. Allthough the result wasnt that good it was oke for a first test. Resulting in a pretty quick new car to replace the Spark. I think this car is not a basher but a entry level racer. As you look at all the tuning options its definately a much better racer as the Arrma Typhon. I bet we see a new kit in the near future to replace the sbx410 as well

Yeah you probably could use it as an entry level racer but to be honest with you I wouldn't recommend it. You'd be a lot better off just buying someone's roller from last year and putting cheap electronics in it. You'll be at a similar price and have a much better machine for racing

Only Team Corally RC car I own is the "Moraco", and I very much enjoy the car. Regretably I had a difficult time getting replacement parts, but did. The car is exceptionally fast and such a pleasure to drive. My local hobby shops do not care distribute cars aside from mostly Traxxas and Arrma. When u mentioned the making ones own replacement parts, I myself have thought this too. I looiked into 3D printers but was informed of how one needs Downloads on the shape of parts to replace which got me to chose not to buy a 3D printer. TY 4 your content. Happy Easter! o7
@DoRC2 ай бұрын
There are some things you can download online but sometimes you do need to design your own parts. Overall 3D printing is a lot of fun though so if you want to get into it I would recommend it.
@dub25362 ай бұрын
@@DoRC I genuinley do. What discouraged me was speaking to the 2 gentlemen at the "micro Center" about 3D printers is after I asked. "May I simply place a part I wish to clone/recreat 3D style so that it can therby learn how the shape is etc to then recreate and print?" They were like..."not that way. It is usually inacurate and unless you have a CAD file with all details u wont likely create the exact shape" paraphrasing. So I shook my head and left empty handed. I never have done it, but if I could copy 3D shapes. I could get busy making parts for myself and others. Poissibly better quality plastics that r stronger etc. But they gave me the impression that is a "pie in the sky" plan. but idk. I do know that 3D printing fascinates me and I wish I could get started but i dont know how. I have $ to invezst but lack knowledge on what to invest in/buy and how to get started. TY for the reply. Best wishes.
@DoRC2 ай бұрын
@@dub2536 what they said is technically true. Unless you have really high-end equipment 3D scanning isn't really going to get you a perfectly repeatable part. It's more of a starting point for you to then design the part around. This is because there's always going to be small detail inaccuracies that of course the 3D printer will replicate perfectly so what you end up with won't exactly be the part you started out with.

A big factor, at least for me is Parts availability. Most LHS dont carry parts, so kinda a kill for me. Another downer is all that plastic, and non adjustable arms. I think if you intend to use this on a Oval dirt or carpet track, not a bad option. However no way would I call that a Basher.
@DoRC6 күн бұрын
I don't really think you need adjustable anything for a basher. Most bashers don't adjust stuff. As far as parts availability if you want to be able to get stuff at the LHS Yeah it's pretty limiting but personally I just order everything online so it's not a problem.

At first I thought you were asking if there was a way to make the price higher. That was very confusing. Really the only way to increase ground clearance is to put bigger tires on it which you definitely can do though you may run into rubbing issues on the body at full lock as taller tires also tend to be wider.

It’s amazing how many people don’t believe you can mix fluids, or drastically misunderstand how averages work. I once saw someone come to the conclusion that half 60 + half 30 would make 90 somehow. You can literally just put to fluids in a container and leave it for a day and it becomes a homogeneous mixture.

@DoRC2 ай бұрын
Lipo batteries are not really very dangerous as long as they're treated correctly. You already have lithium batteries all over your house. The thing you're reading this on probably has a lithium battery in it. The reason there are fires in this hobby is because people either don't get educated on lipo safety or refuse to follow that education when it actually comes time to dispose of a battery that's failing because they want to save a few bucks.

This is how you do an economy entry level 1/8 scale basher buggy. Arrma Typhon 3S is just a 1/10 Short Course that is shaped like a 1/8 buggy...not legit...though it is a god buy at the aggressive sale price that comes around once a year or so. Only thing is I'm starting to notice about Team Corally is they change up their designs every cycle, which is great for improving the product, but it seems like it obsoletes their prior models too quickly. Great if you enjoy buying the latest and greatest, not so much if you only want to maintaina small RC roster that you can run for many years.
@DoRC2 ай бұрын
Not really sure I understand this. All of their 6s/4s vehicles are based on the same platform and share most of the same parts. They do updates pretty frequently which I think is a great thing but it's not really obsoleting older models and you can still get parts for the older models
@barbedwirerat6612 ай бұрын
@@DoRC Some of the confusion is they keep rebranding each iteration of the buggy (as with their other RCs)...Python, Radix, Spark, Synchro. It is hard to track what is what. A couple years from now how hard is it going to be to locate parts for a Radix compared to say any version of a Typhon 6S? Heck, I know it was hit or miss for a few years but now that HPI is back in business I can still keep my OG Vorza buggy running with new production parts (not just new-old-stock), and even the old Savage Flux HP (I just installed the new Savage X stub axles on it last weekend with properly implemented 17mm hex hubs!)
