Even the base PS5 , yes there's a few Good games on it, but nothing really too exclusive so it's still basically a high(ish) end PC with a missing keyboard. Now that Nintendo flipped the whole console game on its head - a 'grounded' console can have 30 Teraflops of power if it wants to , it will still seem dated an old hat next to a savvy Hybrid console that follows the hip and timeless format Nintendo created and now is going to improve upon at least three-fold in power(!)

I’ve been thinking for a while that the Switch 2 reveal is going to happen sometime either this week or the week of September 29-October 5. It’s clearly not this week now, but even if it happens in the other week, it’s still pretty close from September anyways. Theoretically I suppose there could be a social media announcement on Monday, the 30th having a Switch 2 Direct for Tuesday, October 1. Even still if the Direct is scheduled on Thursday the 3rd, there could be an announcement on Wednesday, the 2nd. So it’s theoretically not that far removed from September.

My theory at the moment is that it was originally slated for Sept, but got pushed back due to a potential internal delay. It’s quite possible that the Foxxcon manufacturing line in Vietnam was hit pretty hard by the tragic Typhoon Yagi around last week, so that would be my guess as to why.

My perspective on this has always been "Most of the reasons make sense. I'll just wait until it's officially announced, and it's probably within everyone's expected timeframe of Sep 2024 - Feb 2025. If nothing happens in that time, some kind of error or emergency happened."

The Big February Game prediction and why it hasn't been discussed by Nintendo already: 1. It is an explicitly cross-generation first or second party title to be identified during the hardware reveal. They likely need at least one game to promote as cross-generation which has advanced features on the new hardware, and they can't talk about it until the hardware reveal. (Xenoblade Chronicles X perhaps?) 2. Kirby remake & remake fatigue. Kirby likes February releases, and Nintendo fears announcing a remake as the big title for back-to-back months too early. Possibly more comfortable to do a web-trailer reveal in October or so, and only have it show up in a late-January (or very early February) Direct so its less obvious we get back-to-back remake months. 3. Dragon Quest I+II HD-2D. Doesn't look like either SquareEnix or Nintendo wants to talk anymore about it until DQ III HD-2D is out the door in November. I find this three-month turnaround unlikely, as I don't expect to see I+II until late spring or even early summer (or later in year if DQ series gets a spinoff game in this window instead.) But it certainly fits the mold to explain why a major February release remains unknown. 4. Something we don't know about yet that a third party is announcing at Tokyo Game Show but for which Nintendo is publishing. Dubious but not entirely out of the question if Nintendo had sought out a smaller studio with a product needing a publisher and Nintendo saw it as an easy way to fill an empty month toward end of current hardware cycle. 5. New hardware launches in March and they don't need a February title as the launch will carry at least two first party games already (along with lots of second and third party titles.) I personally think its still April launch, but I don't feel as confident in my hardware predictions any longer being "Team September" for the reveal up until a day or two ago (now joined "Team October") If hardware launch is indeed April or later, they can wait all the way to January Direct to reveal the March title if there is one.

A very small window for a switch 2 reveal this month Andres. But I doubt it. Due to the Legend of Zelda Echoes of wisdom game and the special edition switch lite console for the game are coming out this coming Thursday. But Nintendo could reveal the switch 2 at or during the Tokyo game show event next week. But it is a long shot. I don't know if Nintendo will do a special presentation at the show or not. I know Sony is supposed to do a State of Play around the Tokyo game show event next week. So a switch 2 reveal is possible next week. But I'm not getting my hopes up. I'm on team 2025 for a switch 2 reveal by the way.

I have been primarily thinking it would be a September reveal, but it's not looking great now. I had been banking on this week. I thought they would want to announce it before TGS, but maybe not. @@SuperFowlMouth I totally agree except for the fact that I don’t think a ton of people internationally will be watching (it just isn’t as well known outside of certain groups (and developers of course)) and Nintendo has sort of stepped away from the in-person reveal/first look. If the Switch 2 is revealed before (say, the 23rd or whatever), then it will almost certainly be there, but that ship may have sailed. If it’s there though, it will be awesome!

I told you the reveal is in March. Crossgen support for switch one goes to 2028. Reveal of Switch 2 in 2024 before holiday would kill all holiday momentum. Switch 2 launch is a Summer Launch not spring. July , Aug Sept. The holiday 2025 game is Ocarina of Time 4k. The Direct we are getting within next two weeks is on Bundles. A free game for console only price . Evergreen game.

It ain't happening, Echoes of Wisdom is coming out next week, Nintendo did plan to reveal the Switch (NX) in September 2016, but since Mario Oddysey wasn't running perfect, they delayed the reveal to October.

A console needs plenty of time for general consumers to understand what it is, why it’s superior to its predecessor and why they should buy it. This takes time, even the Xbox Series X, the fourth generation of a long-running line of very similar systems had an eleven month gap between reveal and release. A three to four month wait would probably be a disaster.

Well I can already tell you that this prediction is probably incorrect. If it’s released in April/May, then January is too early for an announcement. The reveal of a console is dependent on the release, everything else is planned around that. 5 Months is generally too short for an advertising cycle for a new console. The Switch had a similar time frame, but the Wii U was failing so bad that they needed to fill the void quickly.

I'm still going to be on Team October or Team 2025 I don't know because I know that next week we're getting Epic Mickey Rebrushed and The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. But okay so hopefully if we get one more Direct I mean it's possible they can show Switch 2 but maybe I'm wrong. But we know that Switch 2 will be revealed at the end of October but I still think Switch 2 will come out in March 2025 and I don't know if there gonna do a 3 minute trailer for it or a full-on Switch 2 Direct about but again I don't know with Nintendo we'll just have to wait and see what happens. And for the games okay so they can show 3D Mario, a new Mario Kart, the sequel to Kirby and the Forgotten Land, a new 2D Kirby Game or a remake of any of the 3DS Kirby games like Triple Deluxe, Planet Robobot, and Kirby Battle Royale, a new Star Fox game, a new Donkey Kong Game, a new Wario Land Game, a new Punch-Out Game, and a new Mii Game or a remake of Tomodachi Life. But I do hope we get to see the GameCube Library being on Switch 2 which would be awesome. But yeah I do hope Nintendo has some good plans for us for Switch 2 whenever it comes out or is revealed. But I'm still having my hopes for Triple Deluxe, Planet Robobot, and Tomodachi Life to come to Switch because those games need to come to Switch before we move on to Switch 2 because isn't dead yet. But I know I'm still waiting for the next Kirby Game because I'm trying my best to beat Kirby's Return to Dreamland Deluxe 100% still.
