Madden NFL 98 - Intro & Gameplay - SEGA Saturn -

Given its SuperBowl week. Thought it be nice to play some of the classic NFL games, starting with this gem. Fantastic work on the Saturn, by Tiburon.

Hearing John Madden and Pat Summerall's voices again is bittersweet. RIP to two true GOATs of the broadcasting booth. One of the funniest memories I have of these two on the game, was when the Pittsburgh Steelers had a fullback named Chris Fuamatu-Mahafala. Pat Summerall didn’t want to butcher the man’s name, so any time you gained yards with the play Pat would just say: “a pick up of 7 yards by Chris”

Why are the tackle's so bad? Because it was built on the genisis engine or could the Saturn not allow for motion capture?

@@joemamr710 word. Can't believe how quickly technology has advanced is all. I remember being a kid and thinking world series baseball 95 was so realistic.

@@Gdub33 World Series baseball on the Saturn was extremely far ahead of it's time for sure. It looked amazing at the time, much better than EA sports offerings for the next several years even.
