I think training your pine to go over the pond would look really cool. I’m really jealous your yard is gorgeous! Looks like a lot of work. A work of love!

Wow Brian!!!!😮😍 Your yard is gorgeous!!!! I wouldn’t cut back the weeping scotch pine. It has such a beautiful shape. Prop up the branch over the water with a stake. You won’t see the stake. This will hold it up off the water to allow the view you want. You’ve done a wonderful job. Such a huge variety of plants. Amazing!!!!!

That scotch pine would look great with a bamboo crutch under the limb like what you see in japan. I really love your choice of plants. Your pond plants give off a Japanese pond garden vibe. So awesome! God bless

Love your yard. I had the tigers eye sumac. It can be very invasive. With regard to your weeping scotch pine , if it is anything like my weeping white pine. If you let it grow over your water it will shed it's needles and cones into the water. If that is not a concern for you, it would look really nice.

JMO you problably already made a decision but on the weeping scotch pine cut lower branch for line of sight and train higher branches to make tunnel over water way. Eventually it will fill and give another area hidden area to encourage curiosity and make space look bigger in the end. Beautiful land scape and aquascape!!!!

I got to watch part 2 tonight was great I am glad you did a second part. I live in Toledo and have got the green light from the wife to spend extra money on heavy land scaping the new pond area. So I might have to use some of the same kind of plants you have. I get most of my plants now from William Trickers catalog, love that place. They have Trickers victories seen the bloom one year size of a basket ball does Aqualand have mail order catalogs for plants ? or at least a webpage to order from?

That weeping scotch pine, I think u need to cut the bottom limb like u were talking about but leave the limbs that were above that bottom one and train them to come over the pond cause then u get the best of both worlds, it goes over the stream like u wanted but also opens up the bottom area like u wanted.

Can you do a full layout of your yard. I sort of saw the neighbors yard in one of the shots and they were pretty much yard. I would love to see the overall layout of your back yard to help me decide what to do with the almost .3 acres in my back yard. I have ideas but it would be helpful to see your overall layout. Thanks

Was going to add the same comment. Brian's yard is laid out so well that it feels like it just goes forever. Would love to see the whole thing in plan view. Would also love to learn more about how the berm for the waterfall was constructed since that falls is massive.

Awesome plant tours, I think it is a tough call on the pine, I would try to train it first and see how it looks :). I did notice you did not have any Iris, is that because you don't get enough sunlight around your pond area?

Brian, great video. I learned about a few new plants. Thanks I would love to learn more about how to grow plants directly into the pond. (ie Hosta). You spoke about it in a video with Laura from Garden Answer on how you wrap the roots in a piece of liner. I would love it if you did a video focusing on plants to place in the water itself. Thanks in advance.

Think bonsai train the bare limb to bend inward up and over the height of the viewer so your looking through similar to a tunnel . Your view of mystery right? well whats cooler than looking into a tunnel.

I have a spring fed natural pond in Texas. Muddy, mucky, stagnant etc. About 50ft x 50ft, not sure how deep because the water is muddy. I want to fix it up and turn it into a really nice clear water pond with fish etc. What plants would be best to get things going in the right direction?
