3 weeks. And that sound is intense! Once the turbo, downpipe and exhaust are on it, i think it will sound really great

You caught my attention with the one rotor, looking forward to seeing how it works out for you. I'm also building a one rotor Mazda 13B based Wankel to use in the two seat home built kit aircraft that I'm building. It is based on what my Dad developed back in the 1980's.

No video of my single rotor yet. I have to make a couple of internal engine conversion parts and intake yet from drawings I got from my Dad when he was building and selling these engines for aircraft use back in the 80's & early 90's. I do have all of the aircraft mount and prop drive parts already. The single rotor I'm building is a Duncan Aircraft Engines model SR150R and should swing the same prop as a Lycoming O-320. That is a 320 cubic inch four cylinder rated at 150 HP.

Got to hand it to you guys....you all are good at your craft. When I worked for Mazda Southside Motors it was expected that the car was back in the customers hands the afternoon of the next day for major engine overhaul. That's new housings, rotors, cut side seals...the works. Did it 6 years, 6 days a week before going into the Navy. But that is when Mazda parts fit before you took it apart and fit going back in. Time was relative then. But custom fit takes a team of genius sometimes. Was not surprised when the bell housing was not deep enough for the clutch and flywheel. Same thing happened when we mounted a RX2 engine in a VW bus....lots of set backs. I know as subscribers we are your worst critics sometimes, but cheers on the build...your attention to detail is noted...so is some "not ready for prime time" also. LOL But if it was easy, everyone would be doing it!

nice, it sounds like Mazdas original rotary prototype, the Mazda RX500 which used a single rotor rotary engine using a 10a sized rotor
@Tiltymilk5 жыл бұрын
Sorry to correct you, the 10a was a twin rotor design you confused it with the 40a, I believe
@scottjinx5 жыл бұрын
@@Tiltymilk hi, haha, yeh i know the 10a is a 2 rotor but if you read my comment again it says 'a single rotor rotary engine using a 10a SIZED rotor' so a 60mm wide rotor rather than the 80mm 13b rotor used here, cheerz :)
@scottjinx5 жыл бұрын
@@Tiltymilk it's been ages since i first saw that vid of the RX500 putting around the carpark so i searched it & had another look, i assumed it was a single rotor using 10a parts because of the name RX500, i was thinking 500cc & one 10a rotor would give that capacity & it sounded like a single rotor because it was running like a bag of shit but after checking the specs it was actually a 10a hey , haha, they really should give it a freshen up & get it running properly & do some decent demo runs, it really is a kool piece of rotary history & would be good to see it performing the way it was supposed to hey :)
@Tiltymilk5 жыл бұрын
scottjinx ohhh my bad!! Didn’t mean to come off as rude or anything lol I agree with you they should definitely not be firing it up unless it’s getting tuned because everybody and their moms know you don’t sit there and rev the shit out of a cold rotary and shut it off...it’ll bite you in the ass. No hate because it’s for video purposes 😁 I recently picked up a 13b renesis, the previous owner is 2JZ swapping his rx8, i’m going to rebuild it and drop it back into a rx8 when I find a decent shell 😅 if you’re reading this I hope YOU have a GOOD ASS DAY! Keep them dorito machines talked about and aliveeee ZOOM! ZOOM!!
