If people haven't seen the DieselPumpUK video about developing that billet manifold, I highly recommend it. This build is insanely cool! I predict the transmission dying first if anything.

You should let the glowplugs switched on for the first 30sec when the engine is running. The original car does that too and it reduces the diesel knocking a lot

Afterglow is about 60sec on later models stock. Helps alot with white smoke and knocking

Best thing probably would be to build to original Glowplug controlunit back in and just switch that one on with normal ignition they got.. But idk tho :)

@@MrSh31by We have a timed relay that can be set to whatever (1-120 seconds I think). We can play around with it and see what works best.

@@jacoblawrence8150 Typically your 1st gear ratio is around 3:1 and 2nd gear ratio around 2:1. I see no point having a gearbox with 2 gears ratios closer together than that. Neither do i know of a trans that would have. So yes, gear ratio does matter but generally gearboxes dont really have a big variation in gear ratios.

Sounds like she's got a lot of timing advance. Sounds like it's knocking a lot more than normal and the bucking. Might be worth checking.

It’s a diesel, but it’s not a Ford. Usually you advance the timing until it sounds like a Ford, then back it off a couple degrees lol

Incorrect. Superpumps knock much louder than stock pumps do. Theres a video somewhere comparing stock with 7.5 and 8mm pumps. Also while the stock pumps are times around 14.5° ATDC, the superpumps are meant to be timed anywhere from 8-10° ATDC. Keep in mind that is obviously not actual injection timing, the pumps have an internal timing offset.

If your in the us, you have to go to the NE to find one. The e300td only really sold well in this region. Luckily I'm in PA so if I'm willing to go 5 hours I can get one

Excellent work! These videos keep me motivated on my own 606 swap! 1974 Jeep Cherokee with the 606 in front of a NV4500, dieselmeken injection pump, BWs200sxe turbo, turbobandit SS manifold (Luke released his billet manifold right after I bought that...). It's going to be an ass load of power for a shitbox cherokee. What is going to kill your Datsun is oil starvation, evidently if these 60X motors lose oil pressure at all they will grenade themselves instantly. Had to rethink my oil cooler placement to avoid such a fate.

Need to talk to smeding diesel for a s365, you can position the compressor side and turbine side independently so waste gate works in any position. Plus bigger than that weak he351

DieselPumpUK has a really nice video of how they build these manifolds from machining them out of a massive billet chunk to finishing off the way it flows inside to give the best manifold made for the OM605 or OM606 . this engine is going to be even more insane after this is installed you really need to stick some slicks on it and go drag racing

This thing is straight up dope. Y'all couldn't have chosen a better drivetrain for that car than the OM606. It's sick. My dad had an old 86 big body Benz with that engine and hearing that thing knock at idle brought back memories.
