I drank while watching this and I hate that I abuse alcohol. I don't drink everyday and I don't feel sick when I don't drink but I hate how my mind races when I'm sober. I need to like myself better. I'm not a bad guy, I don't know.
@skateandgeekout2 ай бұрын
@@sean-ew2qv the alcoholic mind is always looking for reasons to drink, you're feeling anxious, you're feeling depressed, stressed, hopeless, whatever it is your going to stay in those feelings to help keep you drinking. If you want to get sober and deal with your feelings, insecurity, trauma, whatever it may be your mind is going to do everything it can to talk you into drinking especially during the first weeks but if you keep yourself busy with other things, force yourself to deal with any problems you may have, eventually you'll start to feel confident that you can leave the booze behind, and with the strength your mind will stop being as negative or hard on yourself bc it's not going to work like it used to to lead you to drinking, you'll just start feeling better and being able to enjoy life naturally.

My dad and I went and saw x2: xmen united because nobody else wanted to and our birthdays are literally two days apart.) Everything about Brolin playing that character was perfect. Wahlberg, although I think he plays a great mark Walberg like character, could never pull that off. I even think he was too mark Wahlberg to play Sullivan from uncharted. Quick story. Ted and Josh’s dad James made an early 80’s, made for TV movie for NBC called Cowboy. It was filmed in my hometown of Maypearl Texas (about 30-40 miles southwest of Dallas) population at the time was a whole 460 people. I was about 9-10 years old and remember it well. Had some star players in it, Randy Quaid, Annie Potts amongst a few other smaller names. I just remember it was so cool seeing these people in town. Several scenes were shot with our property in the background. It was a popular filming location as other movies were filmed there over the years. A version of “Of Mice and Men”, “Ellie”, and “Pure Country” with George Strait and Susan Sarandon. It was a popular little county. Good times.

Seven years sober and the only times that I've even thought about having a drink was after some stressful interactions with my parents. I do miss the tacticle quality of a cold beer after a hard day at work. But not the drink itself... just the fact that somehow a cold beer *seems* colder than a cold soda or other drink. Or maybe it really is colder? Maybe a beer cooler can be set to a lower temp without freezing the contents? So if the drink companies can figure out some kind of drinkable antifreeze, that would be great! 😂

In this interview, Josh Brolin is a philosopher. He talks implicitly of being enlightened, and this only comes from experience and maybe more specifically one who has led a phenomenological approach to life. At 18min and 42 seconds, he mentions that the first half of his life (45 years) was lived one way (e.g., risky, not sober), and he says of this new path of his life is like a second life. Although often attributed to Confucius but not found in his writings, the quote "We have two lives, and the second begins when we realize we only have one" has real roots in the philosophies of Jean-Paul Sartre or Albert Camus who explored themes of life’s meaning, the inevitability of death, and the importance of living authentically. Josh sounds like an avid reader and writer of philosophy. In his movies, a great actor! In real life and socially, I bet one feels enlightened having spent time with him. Great interview, Ted and Woody!

BEST of friends.. or well..lets be honest. some humans don't get along. but it reminds of of all of us really. I mean acting is the only profession which we all watch.. we all watch these guys work. sports players and actors, or musicians. but actors every week on TV you know. but its also the same for us. got that job at that company back in the day and you had a blast with those co workers and lost touch. or you went away to college and made those friends for 4 years... or you went to live over there for 2 years and were super close to that person.. then GONE!!! lost touch... and 20 years later you run into that person... yeah... life is cool... JOSH cracks me up with meeting the EX.. I am like that too.. " wow hows it going? how have you been?" LOL my friends think I am crazy for wanting to remain friends with my exes LOL...

LOL! I packed my tent, and that bear was about 25 feet away from me just watching me, He followed me maintaining that same distance all the way down a mountain at a walk for about two miles. I looked back occasionally, and it was there following me. When I reached the river, I looked back, and it was gone. It was just escorting me out of its territory. :)
