ABOUT WHERE EVERYBODY KNOWS YOUR NAME
Ted Danson and Woody Harrelson are total opposites with an unbreakable bond since meeting on the hit sitcom “Cheers.” But after that show wrapped, life took them in different directions, and they missed each other. This podcast is a chance to reconnect, both with each other and the amazing friends they’ve each met over the decades, like Will Arnett, Dax Shepard, Jane Fonda, Mary Steenburgen, José Andrés, Conan O'Brien, and more - that is, when Ted can get a hold of Woody! Join them as they dig beyond the career highlights and into the stuff of life that makes us who we are. Like the title says, this is a place to be known.
ABOUT TEAM COCO
Team Coco features over a decade of comedy sketches, celebrity interviews and stand-up comedy sets from CONAN on TBS, as well as exclusive videos from Team Coco podcasts like Conan O’Brien Needs A Friend, Why Won’t You Date Me? with Nicole Byer, The Three Questions with Andy Richter, Literally! With Rob Lowe, Where Everybody Knows Your Name with Ted Danson and Woody Harrelson (sometimes), and Scam Goddess with Laci Mosley.

One of Danson's well known tricks is to withhold donuts and other types of food from a diabetic. And that's just cruel, but EXTREMELY effective as seen here.

Well said, man. He's terrific. He is thoughtful in his approach and is - even while being a fanboy of Marty - very relaxed and engaging. His style for this format is pitch perfect; he's too languid for corporate tv.

So much to say for this episode. First, Ted may be one of the best interviewers to come around in a long time. His questions, probing and overall style brings out the best in his guest. Martin Short. A unique person. He has created some of the greatest characters and bits of all time. He also has a personality that makes me wish I knew him as a friend. From his growing up creating characters to seeing him with Steve I think he’s just genuinely great.

I had the pleasure of meeting/interviewing Marty Short years ago and he was everything you would expect/want him to be. Engaging, sharp as a tack, funny as hell and super smart. Even now, well into his 70s, he remains one of the best comic talents working. And that's no lie, eh?

Three Amigos is such an underrated classic. It came out before I was even born, but some of my favorite memories are sitting with friends in high school, having some drinks and just watching the movie and laughing our butts off. We all had loved it as children and it was just something we bonded over while also discussing the silly drama of high school, college and life and also all the real loss we had each felt from close family members at young ages which probably had initially brought us together. Three Amigos become a bedrock and we still bring it up every now and again.

I adore Martin Short. I first saw him in Godspell in Toronto with that star packed cast - only none of them knew that's where they were heading at the time. Victor Garber, Eugene Levy, Andrea Martin, Gilda Radner, Dave Thomas, Martin Short, Jayne Eastwood, Paul Shaffer, Avril Chown, Gerry Salsberg, Rudy Webb and Derek McGrath . In fact, one evening my sister (a dance teacher) and I ended up at a party with some of the cast members I went on to see many of them again along with new faces at Second City in Toronto which I went to for years (along with Yuk Yuk's). They were all there: John Candy, Eugene Levy, Catherine O'Hara, Robin Duke, Andrea Martin, Joe Flaherty, Harold Ramis, Rick Moranis, Dave Thomas, Dan Aykroyd, Mike Meyers, Tony Rosato and that is where I first saw Martin Short do Ed Grimley. 🤣A night of laughter is so good for the soul - and these were the best of the best. Of course, I followed them to SCTV and SNL and then all their movies. One of my favourites of Martin's is 'Simple Wish', which I watched with my daughters. What a scream he was in that movie playing a fairy godmother. If you haven't seen it - watch it. Of course 'Father of the Bride 1 & 11 are absolute classics. I love them all...and so miss John Candy. Great interview!!!!

Very enjoyable conversation between the 2 of you. As a Torontonian, now living abroad, it was warming to hear the Canadian references, all of which I can relate to. I would've seen Godspell at the Bayview Playhouse in my Leaside neighbourhood, but I don't know who was in the cast at that point. I served drinks at 2nd City Fire Hall when Marty was in the cast with so many others who went on to be known talents. I worked there through 2 shows & I totally knew these were some of the funniest, talented performers of their time & that they'd go on to big careers writing or performing or both. Then, of course, SCTV, which we all knew all the bits & still play-out with friends & fam. OMG Marty's Trudeau (Sr)!
