@@12bravo68Conan is a great talk show host. When he talks this much it’s because he understands that he is required to “drive” the conversation. Kristen Wiig, in contrast to her SNL characters, is pretty shy and short with her words. Compare her interview to someone like Norm McDonald’s and you can see both ends of Conan’s spectrum. He lets Norm drive because he understands that’s what he needs to do. There would be a lot of dead air if it weren’t for him doing this with Kristen.

This is off subject but I literally feel Kumail Nanjiani was the starting point to when Conan thought about having his own podcast. He changed the entire format to focus on one interview and to pick the brains of his guest but Kumail literally threw a wrench in that format of programming. So having a podcast allieviates the pressure of constantly having a guest. That story he said about kristen wiigs really shows that he has more flexibility now to interview the people he wants.

Conan's right she is one of the best. Her skill and talent was always above most of her accompanying cast. Especially the women. It took me a bit to realize it myself because she is hot and as a teen that's what I was focused on and everybody knows being good lookin is not good for comedians but it didn't take long for her skill and talent to shine through and make you appreciate how good, funny and entertaining she is over how cute and pretty and hot she is. Her execution is just too good. She is so skilled and talented that she is one of those rare exceptions that her natural good looks can't serve as a distraction to the viewer and negatively effect her ability to translate how actually uniquely and exceptionally funny she actually is. She achieved that and it is just another thing to add to her resume that speaks volumes of how funny she is. I remember I use to force myself to ignore her execution for a few seconds and just mute her out so I can indulge in appreciating her pretty face - but amidst this I would get involuntarily pulled back into the context of the skits because she would be k!lling it and the next thing I know I was laughing and crushing at the same time. Alright I sound like a repetitive, broken record..
