You have to say Conan is a true sport. He shows a lot of confidence to allow himself to be self-deprecated like this all the time. I appreciate Conan as a comedian. He's always showing honor to others and humoring himself all the time.

He's not a "sport" and confidence is irrelevant. Self-deprecation is his comedy wheelhouse. He relies on it constantly because he knows it's funny. He loves nothing more than being made fun of. The Red Dingus bit could've easily been Conan's idea.
