Yay, another lore video! It's interesting to note that (as far as I know) Kirin is the only monster that is a direct reference, with an unchanged name ("Kirin" is the Japanese version of "Qilin"), to a mythological creature. It's also baffling that our favourite pony isn't in MHRise despite the Asian setting and focus on riding.

Unpopular opinion but i always loved and admired Kirin in every game,it's a crime that it didn't appear in Rise now that Chammy also returned. It fitted the Japanese theme perfectly. Hope it returns in SunBreak alongside the beautiful Oroshi Kirin. Fits the European medieval theme as well because it's a unicorn?

@@adamsrealm I know you're not the only one most of the community hates it, although nowhere near as Gypsorus and Plessy are hated. Which is why my opinion is unpopular haha. But personally i think it has alot to it's character, basically a glass cannon elder dragon that focuses primarily on thunder for the offense. Also is the weakest of all elder dragons known. I would love to see it again just as i want to see Gypsorus and Plessy.

@@fabinagl7601 Haha yes prior to that Plessy was very *very* unenjoyable, not unless you knew how to , had a weapon that can block or pick a weapon that has less combo animation commitment. Plessy is quite agile on land for a monster that evolved filling a niche, spending most of his time underwater. I hated him the most and ran out of time many times fighting green dual plessioths, and for some gog damn reasons i farmed him alot, like ALOT! Until at last i could predict every move before he does it and it's still imprinted in my dna lol. Yes i was a pure GS main.

I just beat this guy for the first time in Worldborne. Having come from Rise, I was rather excited to see that elder dragons still scared off all of the smaller monsters. It was even better that an unnatural thunderstorm was brewing in the area, which didn't happen in the old gen games. They just improved the fight in subtle ways - making the horn much sturdier, making him limp when weak...

People can say what they will about the male kirin armor for the low and high rank settings in the older games. But that G rank one from 4U and beyond as well as the high rank beta set were the bee's knees and my go to for Monster hunting fashion.

Kirin is a personal favorite monster of mine, because it's a caster with melee capabilities in a game that's almost all about up close and personal fighting monsters. It's also the first monster in MHW to make me triple cart and fail a quest, so it has my respect too.

Rajang is still the most "Honey Badger" like monster in MH... He doesn't care if you could summon lightning out of thin air, or blow winds capable of ripping through thick steels... He will hunt you and make you squirm hahah
