Latest Beta images of all confirmed flyable desert war aircraft, coming to the highly anticipated expansion to IL-2 Sturmovik Cliffs of Dover Blitz.
Not all aircraft shown are complete, with cockpits, external components, special effects and sounds to be finalised by release.
At the end of the video, we have included a full list of all flyable aircraft, including all variants, available in both IL-2 Sturmovik Cliffs of Dover Blitz, which you will need to own in order to play the expansion, along with the outstanding channel and desert war types and variants.

We tend to underestimate the number of casualties the luftwaffe took during the Battle of France... Vichy French aircraft (and some Free French aircraft) served in North Africa and Italy as well... but we tend to forget those theatres... less of an American presence perhaps, but also the fact that we are forgetting generally.

@@derbaerfm Its a package deal for me. No modern sims have a place for her yet. In BoX the Pacific is unrepresented. In dcs she's be duking it out with Kurfursts n Dora's. I guess I could go play Aces High early war server, but I'd rather not pay 15$/month to fly in an empty early war arena. This will be Wildcats in the rough, facing off against mostly comparable aircraft. Wildkitty gonna remind people she may not have been one to one with Zeroes but that doesnt mean she ain't beyond dangerous if you fly your silly Fritzscherschimdt like a donkey. Navy game stronk.

comparing a DCS module to an IL-2 module is dumb, they aim to achieve very different things. A good comparison would be flaming cliffs and il-2, those are very similar. Meanwhile full DCS modules are painstakingly crafted over years to be a digital replica in all functions from ground startup to takeoff, navigation, combat, landing and shutdown.

This is a totally different game engine from IL2 Battles. You will find the damage modelling of Cliffs of Dover extremely detailed and complex.

What other Italian aircraft were numerically important in this period? The MC200 and the Trimotor bombers seem important as do the Caproni 309\310\311... are there any others? I'm curious.

J WG I recall them saying that the MC 200 was only marginally better than the existing G.50 in the game, so they went for the MC 202 as more people would like it than the MC 200; they also said that the SM.79 would be too large to complete for 5.0 and hope to include it in the future. I really want to see some more Italian planes in future modules.

I thought a Ca.310 would be an interesting counterpart to the Blenheim (and they were produced in large numbers)... so that'd be my pick after those two. :)

@@EpicJoshua314 italian aircraft numerically oft were more important than germans, even if british pilots wery oft mistaked them for germans (expecially the Mc202). There are several version of Ju88 but .. SM79? The Mc200 was much more used than the G50 on African front, and was considered better then the Fiat.
