Cliffs of Dover Blitz - Featuring WIP TrueSky - Battle of Britain

Hi All,
Here is our first Cliffs of Dover Blitz combat sortie video featuring the work in progress of TrueSky.
As you can see, the level of immersion in the cockpit, along with the real life difficulties TrueSky will give to players is next level!
Video also features WIP 4K terrain and aircraft, including the WIP 4K Spitfire cockpit!
All features are part of an upcoming massive graphics update, including the implementation of VR.
Mission featured the 48 aircraft from the RAF (12 x Spitfire's, 12 x Hurricane's) and Luftwaffe (24 x Bf-109E-4's) going head to head over Dover.

CLOD Is highly underrated compared to some ww2 combat sims yet has the best fidelity and damage model out there, the scenery Is stunning and with VR and TrueSky In the works I sure do hope It gets the recognition and huge player base It deserves. To anyone who hasn't yet jumped Into CLOD IMHO It's the closest representation of the Battle of Britain you will find. Hats off to the small Team Fusion crew they have pulled this sim from the ashes and made something outstanding. Never In the history of WW2 Sims has so much been owed by so many to so few😄. Looks great.... although I think you'd only see contrails with cirrus clouds or no clouds. Presumably the weather settings and cloud layers could be set by mission designers?

Hi pilots! Is it correct for bf109 that the adjustable stabilizer indicator got the numbers inverted (+ 0 -) compared to the ones of BOS and DCS (- 0 +)? Did they change after BF109 E4?

Too bad the video wasn't so much focused on clouds than on combat, so unfortunately we always see them from the same angle :( Clouds look 3D enough, I hope they're not rotating sprites but there was no evidence either way. If they're cumulus, they're not quite realistic in shape or lighting, way too similar and uniform for scattered/broken clouds, hopefully that's something that can be parameterized from the game. What concerns me more are those spikes of frozen episodes that we see.

I really love the sim and even if I fly everyday dcs, il2 bos and the old il2 1946, yes I know I must be crazy, I find this sim to be for me the most immersive one during dogfights. Now though what I would really like improved. The overall sounds of engines, guns and effects, these need really a fix, mind you same problem with BOS, just crap sounds. The maps and the objects in them , hope some little work can be done on them. Unfortunately It's not possible to use Reshade anymore and that is a pity. Great video and great skyes! The COD spitfire pit is my favourute among all sims.

The video itself it's surely amazing and TFS always make good progresses. What remains really appaling is seeing the Spitfire engine running basically as per normal under negative G maneuvers giving it an unfair and an unrealistic advantage. The engine in continued sustained negative G maneuvers should stop not simply lower a bit the RMPs ( At least for early variants...and considering the issue was not fully solved even in later variants ). With the engine cut-out missing/not letting the engine stop this is basically a Messershmitt Bf 109 with the turning rate of a Spitfire.

The video looks great, thank you Team Fusion. But why are there no radio talks? Is it just turned off for some reason? As I remember the original BoB version from 2011, these RAF radio speech was just terrible, you can understand only 1 or 2 words from 10.

While it looks amazing.. the sounds, especialy the Guns, feel very lackluster!

So it'll look great but still have piss poor handling? This game is miles behind BOS in terms of its actual gameplay. Please sort this out. It's good in many ways with big battles, good graphics but it's just unplayable. Hard to recommend, and recommendations are pretty crucial if you've got a low marketing budget.

Handling is just one of the issues with this game. The other is LACK OF CONTENT and any kind of REPLAY VALUE. The few "scripted story" missions they call a campaign and the few scenario's just do not make this worth even reinstalling to check out this update when it is available. Unless you play multiplayer which I do NOT there is nothing in the game to make me want to bother reinstalling no matter how much of a graphic update it gets as I have already played the existing scenarios and so called campaigns to death long ago. This game seriously needs a full dynamic campaign mode to give it the replay value and make it worth putting back in to play with the new graphics updates. I mean flight sims much older than this one had full dynamic campaigns so why they thought a handful of "scripted" missions as a so called "campaign" would keep people interested it beyond me.

@@xJamesLaughx wouldn't say content is my biggest issue, it has plenty of planes from all factions and the maps are good, although due to handling probably not spent long enough on it to really get that bored. Compared to BOS its line up of planes is actually pretty awesome. Which makes it such a shame they handle like crap.

I haven't flown a Spitfire so don't know what I am talking about, but what is considered wrong with the handling? I take it you mean how the planes fly?

@@jonathan3141 I've not flown a spitfire either but i have played a few games that feature it and this is by far the worst. There's a distinct lack of smoothness to any controls meaning trying to land fire on an enemy is a frustrating task. Flight in general is an all round nightmare.

@@jonathan3141 also the MG's sound more like rapid fire staplers. All round pretty underwhelming. Buyer beware I guess.
