Can I get a short answer as to why the opposing team resigned? I thought Viper's team was losing in a way? Unless I wasn't paying enough attention?

they tried to kill their trade and almost succeeded, and didn't have their own trade. They were running out of gold. Blue is completely out of the game, Green focusing on Nili but couldn't do anything vs Tatoh nor Viper. Tatoh just killed all of green's halbs in Nili's base with clutch Onager shots, and won a decisive fight in the middle, killing a lot of elephants, sealing the deal.

We knew something was about to go down, then Nili sent half his eco at crouch :D was a fun game, always nice to play with people you normally just watch.

This wasn't a masterpiece. Blue defended so well, he was 2x1 and resiting with nice Conquistadors micro. Nice game but I think it was a pretty equal game. Nilli lost hard and teal was pretty good, he could buy some time for green.

Man I miss Koreans, then need a buff. Anyone in the balance discord know if they're throwing around the idea of 10% faster moving archers. I feel like 10% faster moving archers could be a good but no OP buff for one of the less viable civs.

​@@josephstevens5489afaik it's still there but they're still never played, they could do with the tower build speed back as well, they were never top tier (except for like 6 months when the Chinese players were playing yolo towers like 3 years ago) but they were fun and had a niche. Now they're just a second rate Incas at best, and maybe a second tier water civ, though lack of demos is painful, so even that might be a stretch. I think the wood cost bonus only really matters on water. On land to get the same impact as just the Vietnamese feudal age wood savings you'd need to build 67 archers or 48 skirms (22 fires or 19 galleys for reference). And nobody is shouting about how the Vietnamese bonus is OP.

middle was lost to the strongest player (purple, tatoh), they couldn't trade and probably were out of gold I think maybe. or maybe blue dc'd or didn't feel like playing anymore, he quit first, so could just be that.

Blue was out of the game (you can see on the minimap, Tatoh crushed his base), and green took a lot of time to clear out nili, so his eco was probably not that great either

Yeah, his attack was a bit sluggish there. He should've finished off Viper as fast he he could and move on to Tatoh before Tatoh could get very strong. He nevertheless played very well there.

Nelson Mejias Lozada well, it’s a classic one mate. I’d been playing since March 2000, so it’s like a sentimental map.. that’s the problem: i walled off, put about 90 longbows with all upgrades in the choke point. But the Turks’ bombard canon with that extra range and some Hussars in the mix completely melted my archers.

Is it 1v1? Try spread your longbows and focus micro down their bombards (The turk player will have a much harder time to micro bombards than you), and put halbs in front as meatshield & counter to Hussar. If they add Janissary/Handcannons, add some rams... Otherwise maybe just go 1 TC push in castle age, Turks are just better in BF than Britons late game

This game really should put stricter limits on castle dropping and tower rushing. Yes, it can be countered, but it takes a lot of oxygen out of the actual gameplay of pitching armies against each other.
