The video of the actual process was very helpful. I used to remove the door panel with a tool all around the snaps. Undoing one and pulling the panel like you did was simple and not a single door snap broke! I did both rear door lock actuators in 45 minutes total! Thanks

Great job, I’m just surprised how simple it was, I just did a Honda Fit the other day and it involved a few more steps then the accord, I guess the newer car are made so simple, back in the day the door latch and actuator were separate . God bless

Thanks. Yes, depends on each vehicle. Some have those extra covers for reinforcement or anti slim Jim plate. Yup the older Hondas the door actuator and latch were separate. Thanks for checking out the video. Have a great one!

Great video. Is the water seal still tacky or did you have to apply glue? I couldn't tell

Hey brother, this video has already helped me tremendously, liked and subscribed. In regards to the three torque screws you unscrewed at the very beginning of the video using the torque T30 tool on the inside part of the door that you cannot access when the door is locked, do you know if it is pivotal to unscrew those three screws on the inside of the door, because my door will not open at all, not from the inside nor the outside, so I want to know if it is possible to remove the trim and get to the actuator without unscrewing those screws and do you think it will break the trim if I do not unscrew them. Thank you for your help and sorry if I am not entirely clear.

My team and I are happy to hear this video has helped you out. OK I think I know what you’re asking… so when I was working at the dealership some of my coworkers ran into the same problem/compliant. But they had to do was force out the inside door trim. It might be easier to take out the seat so that way it’s not in the way when the panel comes out. For the most part it doesn’t break but though it can. Then from there you must reach inside with a drill to drill out the pivoting part of the latch from the inside of the door. But before you do that there’s one thing you should try….And I think this was what was happening with my friends car that you see here in the video… try applying pressure with your body onto the door as if it didn’t latch all the way like you’re trying to close it with your body and then at the same time try opening the door. That might assist the latch to unlatch. You’re better off trying this for so that way you don’t have to do it the hard way if it allows you.

@jonathan KI hope that works out for you so that way you don’t need to mess around trying to take out a door panel from inside on the door that doesn’t open. Plus even if you have the panel removed that drilling procedure is no fun, but doable. Drilling is the last thing you wanna do. Thanks for checking out our video. We have plenty more… thank you for your sub. My team and I greatly appreciate it

seriously thank you for responding so quickly. Well, I CAN HAPPILY REPORT THAT THE PROBLEM WAS JUST FIXED USING YOUR ADVICE. It was fixed using the simple but crucial advice you gave me of using your body weight to push and pull while trying to open it. I went to the car and tried it exactly as you said and I was easily able to flip the "frozen" locking switch back to open after a few forceful pushes and pulls from the outside and inside. Thank you so much, you have no idea how much time and money you just saved me, well actually you do. Thank you again and God bless, your advice and that fact that i was so easily able to fix it gave me an incredibly positive boost this evening. God bless brother!

@@jonathank5388 absolutely! My team mate just shared this with me. This has also made our day. We are happy to hear that the advice worked out for you. If that problem continues however, best solution is to just replace the latch… or try lubricant such as silicone spray (wishful thinking). We’re glad to be able to reply as quick as possible… but the truth is sometimes that doesn’t happen. Sometimes we over look some questions. I’m glad we decided to add repair videos when we can. Truth is this channel is mainly for our car club. Videos are supposed to be about are car projects, car meets, and sanctioned race events. Since the pandemic started we would still work on friends and families vehicles. From there we decided might as well use it as content. So be on the lookout for other videos pertaining to our car projects. Matter of fact we have a new video out released yesterday. You’re very welcome glad we could help! Thank you very much as well for your feedback and your interest in our channel. I hope we can continue to make it informative and entertaining for you and everyone else that may stumble along our channel. Enjoy the rest of your evening. GOD BLESS

what if the problem is that when i lock my doors with the key fob, it only locks two doors (front driver & rear passenger), could it be that something else is wrong?
@TeamICZER
@TeamICZER 2 ай бұрын
The usual suspect is that the door actuators to the doors that aren’t working working are probably burnt out. But it’s always a good idea to have somebody diagnose it first to make sure you are indeed getting a signal or power to the connectors. It could always be something else such as wiring issues or grounds however, usually eventually door lock actuators will eventually stop working. Thanks for watching the video and thank you for your question! Welcome to ICZER GARAGE!

Where did you bought the replacement and how much did it cost you?
@TeamICZER
@TeamICZER 3 жыл бұрын
Purchase from a local dealer. Cost of the part Was about I think $120 if I’m not mistaken. That’s with a discount from retail. They are my go to for Honda genuine parts. There’s another dealer closer to the house but their prices are a little higher. I’m sure you could find cheaper parts on Amazon, but I like sticking to genuine Honda parts if possible.

Hey man! thanks for the video, really helps me towards fixing my Door lock problem which I hope you can give me some of your thoughts on what may be wrong with it. I own an Accord 2013 LX 4 door. The rear passenger door lock only works manually so previous owner told me that he just kept it closed. I just purchased the car and this is one of the few problems it came with. Previous owner also told me that he never took the time to fix it because he never had the time/passengers to do so. What do you think the fix would be? I know that I will be taking a look at your video in order for me to remove the door panel. Also had another question, How did you put back again the water shield? Did you stick it with insulation or just put the door panel on top of it? Thanks man and I hope your family and you are healthy and safe!

Your welcome! And thank you for watching our video. For the most part door lock actuators go out after a period of time. This is assuming that all is good with door actuator circuit (wiring, fuse). Mainly the issue the motor is inside them burn out. Specially since a lot of these cars have that auto lock feature. If you have that there’s a way to disable it. Depending on the model... I suggest reading through the owners manual for that. My wife has a 2015 RAV4 were both front actuators went out because it had that auto luck future. Because of the on off cycle it will quickly deteriorate the motor inside the actuator. I’m not a big fan of that. As far as the water shield for the most part they could be reattach with the adhesive that already is there in the inner door skin. But if you noticed that adhesive no longer sticks that well there’s various methods that could be used. You could even use painters tape. It would be the cleanest alternative. In case you ever need to get in the door ever again. Or you could even use weatherstrip adhesive. Thank you very much for your feedback. Happy new year and I hope your family is safe and healthy as well. And thank you so much for watching. Iczer garage greatly appreciates it!
